... that Elsinore Elevate launches the 2020 season at the Shamrock Showdown?

USPA Advanced Class bronze in 2017: Elsinore Elevate
posted Feb 25th, 2020 - The NSL News reported on 18 December 2019 that Josh Hall, Arizona Airspeed 4-way world champion of 2012, finalized the schedule for the 2020 season of the Southern California Skydiving League that he has been managing for several years. The first SCSL meet is scheduled for the month of June.

Josh Hall is also the player-coach for his home team Elsinore Elevate. The same NSL News story included a brief overview of the successful team story, with Advanced Class bronze medals at the USPA Nationals 2018 and silver last year.

Elsinore Elevate would still be eligible to win Advanced Class gold medals at this year's national championship. However, the team decided to continue in the 4-way Open Class instead. The 16.8 average at the USPA Nationals 2019 would have won Advanced Class gold medals several times in the past, and this scoring level places Advanced Class teams in the middle of Open Class leaderboards.

In fact, the combined AAA Class leaderboard of the USPA Nationals 2019 is showing all three Advanced Class medalists (Redline XP, Elsinore Elevate, SNE CenterCell XP) within the Top 10 of the Open Class teams. Without Redline XP and Elsinore Elevate, USPA's Advanced Class medals will be available for new contenders this year.

Advanced Class awards at the USPA Nationals 2019
Elsinore Elevate continue with the same lineup of 2019, which could have made winning the Advanced Class gold medals possibly even too easy. Airspeed 4-way world champion Josh Hall is now back on the Open Class leaderboard, after two years of a player-coaching contest in the Advanced Class with Kirk Verner, 4-way world champion of the early Airspeed years.

The California team is still serious about their 4-way training and competition and prepare for the new experiences on the leaderboard with the 4-way Open Class teams. The first meet of the Southern California Skydiving League in June is too far away, and Elsinore Elevate decided to get an earlier start with outdoor competition on the highest level.

They will travel to the east coast in March and launch their 2020 competition season with the Shamrock Showdown at Skydive City.

It's the same place where the USPA Nationals 2020 will be held, and the west coast team has the opportunity to get familiar with the hosting facilities ahead of time. The Shamrock Showdown is open for all teams, even though some of the best international 4-way and 8-way teams in the world give it the character of a world meet.

Shamrock Showdown 2020
with $2,000 Prize Money and the popular Skins Game
March 19 - 21 at Skydive City

$400 for Fuzion in the Skins Game 2017
The Shamrock Showdown is an easy opportunity for U.S. teams to meet some of the world's best international teams and share facilities and jump planes with them. They can also experience the professional operation of the teams and the skydiving center before visiting Skydive City again in November this year.

On top of that, all teams can also be winners at the Shamrock Showdown, which traditionally includes the Skins Game, with a total of $1,000 cash on stake. Skydive City sponsors the event with $2,000 prize money. The first $1,000 go to the AAA Class winner, and the other $1,000 are given away for the winner of a round after handicap.

Teams receive the handicap number according to their averages after the first five rounds. Each following round has the raw scores on the leaderboard, while the scores after handicap determine the winner of $200 each for Rounds 6 to 10. The handicap is adjusted after each round.

Claire King and Dirk Venter will bring the InTime scoring system to Skydive City. They will push the buttons and decide who will win the cash of the Skins Game.

Elsinore Elevate will know the hosting site of the USPA Nationals well and may also reduce their travel expenses by winning a $200 skin here and there...
