Did You Know...

... that new NSL Live Talk with Jennifer and Matt Davidson was overdue?

Matt and Jennifer Davidson at Weembi Lille 2019
posted Jun 9th, 2024 - Jennifer and Matt Davidson have been regular guests for NSL Live Talk, even though the topics were always different ones. They have been together on NSL Live Talk four times, and the last one was recorded on 4 November 2020. The first conversation happened on 20 April 2019 live at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2019 when they visited the competition at Weembi Lille without using the flying chamber.

Matt Davidson was the official alternate for Paraclete XP8 during his transition from the Golden Knights 8-way team to XP8. His wife Jennifer Davidson was on vacation in France, after training and competing in the same U.S. Army 8-way lineup in Australia 2018, where they won 8-way gold medals together.

They have visited all world championships between 2012 and 2018, only once in the same 8-way team, and they won several FAI gold medals for the U.S. delegations and for the Davidson family. Matt Davidson is currently in 4th place of the FAI world championship medal count since 1985, and he will most likely move up in the rankings after this year's outdoor world championship.

They were opponents in 8-way after the visit at Weembi Lille in April 2019, which they discussed live with the NSL News during the Paraclete XP Summer Classic 2019. The NSL News followed up with an online interview over a year later in the middle of the corona virus crisis. Jennifer Davidson then took a break to attend helicopter flight school, Matt Davidson to go through a hip replacement surgery. He was back in action with Airspeed XP8 to win his next 8-way world championship gold medal in Eloy 2022, while his wife was still at flight school.

The NSL News update directly from the Davidson family became overdue at the latest when Jennifer Davidson agreed to take the open slot for XPG4, as the NSL News reported on February 16th. Jennifer and Matt Davidson were available for the next online conversation with the NSL News last week.

They have competed with different teams at world championships and many other events in the past, and they have joined forces, in 4-way as well as in 8-way lineups, whenever it made sense. This time and this year they will be separated again and compete for different teams at the world championship, Jennifer Davidson for XPG4, Matt Davidson for GKXP8.

Jennifer Davidson has three new team mates who she plans to win her next 4-way Women gold medal with. Matt Davidson is now in a new 8-way lineup with Andrew Starr and Jesse Stahler as his team mates. This 3-way has won FAI 8-way gold medals together for the Golden Knights in 2016 and 2018. Most likely, they will add the next 8-way gold medals to their respective collections.

GKXP8 and XPG4 both have intensive training agendas in the run-up to the outdoor world championship in October. Jennifer and Matt Davidson provided insights of how they manage the family operation. The training schedule is already complicated enough, as Jeana Billings is training and competing in both events, together with Jennifer Davidson in 4-way Women, and with Matt Davidson for GKXP8. Only Jeana Billings and Kirk Verner may have an even busier 4-way and 8-way agenda together.
