In fact, the Rhythm 3way of 2010 and 2011, Thiago Gomes, JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz, needed exactly the same time that the 3way of 2009 with Rob Radez had to add Thiago Gomes to the lineup in 2010.
The Rhythm tryouts in 2009 took place on December 11th, and the NSL News announced Thiago Gomes as the new Tail on December 16th.
This year, the tryouts were held on December 16th, and JaNette Lefkowitz told the NSL News yesterday officially that the new Center Inside has been selected. The NSL News is just a day late breaking the news.
Chris Farina will train and compete with SDC Rhythm XP from here on, even though the latest results of the NSL Poll did not show him as the most popular candidate.
Flemming Borup Andersen's fellow skydivers and friends from Denmark probably took over the poll and lifted the former Bodyflight Voluntas member to the top of the poll. It did not change the Rhythm mind though, and Chris Farina got the slot.
This puts a big questionmark behind the future of Perris Fury. The team's 4way career was extremely progressive and successful, like a team dream story, as all four original members of 2005 started from an average performance level and finished as a world class team that was challenging Arizona Airspeed for the top spot in the USA.
However, Fury still ended up in 3rd place behind Airspeed and Spaceland Fource at the USPA Nationals 2009.
The results of the 2010 season were just as promising and began with another victory over Arizona Airspeed at the World Challenge 2010.
Especially the 66-pointer in Round 2 impressed the skydiving world and was the meet winner over Airspeed. Fury was on the way to some very exciting USPA Nationals later that year.
Airspeed recovered once again and did not let Fury get very close at the USPA Nationals 2010. Perris Fury still won the first set of USPA silver medals, and the scoring progression continued upwards.
The 2011 season might have become the long expected Fury year if the same lineup had continued. Airspeed had a complete makeover with only Mark Kirkby coming back from the 2010 lineup.
It would have been extremely challenging for the new Airspeed lineup to catch up with the original Fury lineup. It went the other way, and Fury never got even close to Airspeed with former Fury member Josh Hall.
Chris Farina now has a new opportunity with SDC Rhythm XP, the US shooting star in 4way Formation Skydiving competition. He said that he still has the desire to become a 4way world champion, and he shares this desire with his new team mates.
The NSL News will follow up with more information, a new NSL Profile and feedback directly from the team.
