News Article Did you know that teams and competitors shared cash, prizes, medals and drinks at the Karp Cup 2004?
posted: Jul 20th, 2004 The Cross Keys MASL hosted the 3rd annual Karp Cup meet Saturday in honor of former Jetstream member Seth Karp, who was in a fatal landing accident in 2002. Seven teams showed up for the meet, coming from as far away as Ohio, making this the largest Formation Skydiving meet yet held at Cross Keys. Seth Karp’s father, Martin Karp, donated $1,000 for cash prizes to honor his son’s memory. DZO John Eddowes matched that mount bringing the purse to $2,000 to be divided among the winning teams in the various classes. News Article Did you know that some teams are currently in trouble?
posted: Jul 13th, 2004 Bad luck for the MidAtlantic Skydiving League team Cross Keys O2 Project. Center Inside of the team, Tom Petzold, broke his wrist last Saturday, caused by a bad landing under his reserve. Petzold is in good shape, however, the season is over for him, as his team mates report. It is a bad timing, if there ever is a good timing for an injury. O2 Project has already put quite some training efforts into the 2004 season. The team consists of Barry Bichler, Tom Petzold, Cherie Schuch, Karl Schuch, Herman Tibbals and competed in the AA Class last year. The same line-up won the silver medal in the Intermediate... (more)
News Article Did you know that the AA Class teams were on stage at the MASL meet in Cross Keys?
posted: Jun 23rd, 2004 Mostly cooperative skies and the perpetually dependable staff of Cross Keys skydiving made for an all around good experience during the Mid Atlantic opening meet this past weekend. Three teams competed at the meet, two in the AA Class and one in the AAA Class.The AA Class competition was stiff. CK Air Pollution returned this year with a new tail and bigger and better training plans. Air Pollution's competition, a newly formed team called Controlled Descent, had brought a coach up for the weekend, Brian Johnson. News Article Did you know that the MASL Karp Cup 2004 offers a total of $2,000 for prize money?
posted: Apr 14th, 2004 The MidAtlantic Skydiving League and Skydive Cross Keys are joining forces to create a larger East Coast 4-way event similar to the Shamrock Showdown of the Florida Skydiving League in DeLand and the Valentine's Meet of the Southwest Skydiving League in Eloy. The meet management at Cross Keys announced that the competition is open to all 4-way teams and competitors and promises to be on a world class level. The Karp Cup has become an annual 4-way event to honor the legacy of Seth Karp, a former member of MASL team Jetstream. $1000 in prize money have been donated by Karp’s father, Martin Karp,... (more)
