Did you know that Zunday and Pyro4ic keep pushing each other at Skydive City?
posted: Sep 23rd, 2013 Two teams from Skydive City have been competing side by side since August 2012 season and eventually ended up in the same competition class this year. They added their latest internal battle last weekend on home turf. The Zunday project was launched at the end of the 2011 season when Gary Fox, Sebastian Jimenez and Keith Murray competed for the first time in the A Class, with player coach Ari Perelman in the lineup. Jon Agar joined the team for the 2012 season in the A Class, and Zunday attended four meets of the Florida Skydiving League, plus the NSL Championship in November. Participants... (more)

Did you know that FSL team Keey It had a very flexible lineup last weekend?
posted: Jul 25th, 2013 Seven teams of the Florida Skydiving League added scores to last weekend's overall leaderboard, with four of them completing up to six rounds at Skydive City in Zephyrhills. The rainy summer weather made it once again very difficult. Pyro4ic and Miami Exuberance both needed two days to complete the six rounds that no other team was able to do on only one day. DeLand teams did not get in the air at all and would have brought the total number of Florida teams to ten, which shows the recent impact of the FSL Tunnel Kicker at iFLY Orlando and the Indoor Cloud League on 4way outdoor competition in... Did you know that Florida teams keep battling with the weather situation?
posted: Jun 17th, 2013 Last weekend's overall leaderboard is so dominated by the Dutch teams at the Tomscat Trophy that the few teams of the Florida Skydiving League are almost unnoticed. Additional scores from Canada are also still to come. The teams in Florida have not completed a 6-round competition this year so far. The summer weather and the timing of the meet weekends did not fit well between April and June. Only the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2013 in March was completed after ten rounds without any weather problems in DeLand. DeLand Bees and the Teiwaz AA Class lineup tried to beat the weather somehow... (more)

posted: Apr 29th, 2013 "David Layne was an old friend of Jim West's from England who had moved to Xenia a few years earlier with his wife Rira, eight-year-old son James, and six-year-old daughter Carolina. The Layne family had been a presence on the drop zone for a few years before I actually took it over. The Greene County Sport Parachute Club was a family business with a club atmosphere back then, and like other members of the "club", the Laynes contributed to keeping the place moving." Did you know that seven teams braved the weather in Florida?
posted: Apr 22nd, 2013 Bad weather interfered with the outdoor season openers both in North Carolina and Florida. However, six teams beat the challenging weather conditions at Skydive City to complete up to four rounds, while teams at Skydive DeLand had no luck on Saturday and not much more on Sunday. Most of the lineups in Florida consisted of skydivers who have attended the FSL Tunnel Kicker indoor project at iFLY Orlando, which was launched in July 2012. The next tunnel event is scheduled for tonight and will compensate for the efforts to brave the weather last weekend. Bob Byrne was organizing the competition... (more)

Did you know that Whooops outscored Barkli after handicap?
posted: Apr 21st, 2013 Russia's national team Barkli competed at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2013 in the middle of this year's training camp in DeLand. Barkli then went back to Russia and visited again a week ago for the next spring training. The Dutch national team Whooops competed at the Mondial Dubai 2012 in December and went into winter hibernation after that. The long outdoor break is over now, and Whooops launched the 2013 season with a training camp in DeLand at the same time as the Russian national team.
