News Article Did you know that NSL-TV coverage of the Shamrock Showdown is back in full strength for Round 8?
posted: Apr 3rd, 2007 NSL-TV coverage of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2007 is back to full strength. All 13 videos of Round 8 have been processed and uploaded. The prizes for Round 8 of the Skins Game were sponsored by Performance Designs ($300 cash) and Skydive DeLand (two free team jumps for the winner of this round). The winner after handicap was once again Team Fastrax. Team Fastrax continued with the same momentum as in Rounds 6 and 7 and tried to get even closer to the leader. However, Airspeed Odyssey was prepared to defend the 3-point lead and tied Fastrax' 27-pointer. (more)
News Article Did you know that Team Fastrax dominated the second half of the Shamrock Showdown?
posted: Apr 2nd, 2007 The week begins with good news and bad news for the NSL-TV audience. The good news is the fact that the best jump of Round 7 can now be viewed on NSL-TV. The bad news is the fact that only a total of four videos could be uploaded. Fortunately, only jumps of Round 7 are missing. Round 8 will most likely feature the whole field of teams again. Round 7 was the beginning of the second competition day at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2007. It began as the Saturday had already ended. Team Fastrax took control of the world-class competition in DeLand. It was too late to catch up with Airspeed Odyssey.... (more)
News Article Did you know that Round 6 was the roughest round of the competition?
posted: Mar 30th, 2007 Round 6 of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2007 was the roughest round of the competition. Round 1 had only a total of three infringements, Round 3 had four formations that didn't count. Rounds 2, 4 and 5 were totally clean. Then came the sequence of Round 6 (M-13-17), which kept event judge Pete Allum very busy. He found a total of nine infringements in 15 competition jumps. The NSL-TV audience is once again invited to check the meet videos for these rough spots. The Chicas from Germany and DeLand Groove lost two points each, the Golden Knights, Optic Nerve, Golden Leaf, Tunnel Chaos and FSC Wind... (more)
News Article Did you know that Round 5 was the turning point of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2007?
posted: Mar 28th, 2007 Airspeed Odyssey apparently likes Block 14 (Bipole - Bipole) and picks up speed and scoring points when the sequence requires a lot of individual flying. Round 5 (H-14-L-P) of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2007 was very similar to Round 8 (14-9-C) at the Valentine's Meet 2007. The scores were similar, as well (27 - 26). The 27-pointer in DeLand also had a similar impact compared to the 26-pointer in Eloy. Airspeed added three points distance to France Maubeuge with the score of Round 8 in February. The 27-pointer of Round 5 in DeLand won two points over the Golden Knights and turned the 1-point... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Golden Knights took the lead in Round 4?
posted: Mar 26th, 2007 Round 4 of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2007 offered the first prizes of the Skins Game. It was no big surprise that Team Fastrax walked away with the first $150 cash and five $60 certificates, as the NSL News story on March 23 already explained the situation after Round 3. Alti-2 provided the discounts for company products, while the DeLand Center for Aesthetic Dentistry sponsored the $150 cash for the winner of Round 4 and also offered each team member a tooth whitening treatment with a value of $400 each. News Article Did you know that the slot switchers won Round 3?
posted: Mar 23rd, 2007 Round 3 of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2007 had quite an impact on the whole competition in many ways. It was the last of the first three rounds that determine the average for each team's handicap in the AAA Class. The NSL Shugar/O'Connor Handicap system was applied for the prizes of the the Shamrock Showdown's Skins Game. Cash and prizes were assigned to each round, and only the winner after handicap was rewarded. The scoring average after each round was the main factor for the handicap, which was adjusted after each round. The scoring averages after the first three rounds provided the numbers... (more)
