News Article Have you heard that the Majik - Sinapsi Shamrock 2004 Showdown is a part of a long meet journey?
posted: Mar 20th, 2004 The FSL Shamrock Showdown 2004 surely felt like a miniature version of a world meet on the first day of the competition. Teams from seven different nations competed at Skydive DeLand on Saturday. DeLand Majik, Sebastian Teiwaz, DeLand Mojo, Optic Nerve, FSC JAMMM and the Rookies represented the USA. Sinapsi PD is Italy's national 4-way team. The Danez will represent Denmark and Team 42 Sweden at this year's world meet. V2 is a British contender for the United Kingdom's 2004 slot in Croatia, and 4Motion is a UK team, as well. The 4Tunates are from the Netherlands, and four teams from Norway competed... (more)
News Article Have you heard that Pete Allum was the meet photographer of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2004?
posted: Mar 16th, 2004 The NSL webmaster took some time to work on the exact breakdown of the skins, and also of all the prizes that were given to the teams at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2004. It became a quite colorful page featuring the first team pictures taken at the meet. Sebastian XL member and Danez coach Pete Allum had the NSL camera in his pocket throughout the whole meet, special thanks to Pete for this out-of-the-box service and the great photos and snapshots. The meet story with more pictures and NSL-TV is next on the webmaster's agenda. By the way, the Sinapsi PD members surprised event manager Kurt... (more)
News Article Have you heard that the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2004 was a great success last weekend?
posted: Mar 15th, 2004 The FSL Shamrock Showdown 2004 was a great success last weekend. World class 4-way competition, perfect weather, many prizes, good vibes and a rocking band on stage Saturday night made the event well worth the visit to DeLand. Local media coverage had also drawn out crowds of spectators to Skydive DeLand on both days of the event. The three top teams, DeLand Majik, Sinapsi PD and Genesis each walked away with $500 in their pockets and additional prizes of the Skins Game. Several other teams took home money and prizes, as well. The NSL News will follow up with the meet story, pictures and... (more)
News Article Have you heard that Norway had a new national team with national coach Lise Aune?
posted: Jan 8th, 2004 The previously recorded and unpublished interviews from the NSL News archives concluded for the 2003 season with Jerome David on 29 December 2003. DeLand Norgies member Lise Nansen-Aune, triple bronze medalist of 1999, 2001 and 2003, was the first Formation Skydiving celebrity discussing topics at the beginning of the new year. She had spent several years visiting Skydive DeLand in Florida mostly for training camps in the winter, and she eventually moved to DeLand. She attended her last world meet in 2003 in pregnancy and continued for a few more months and meets before taking a break from active... (more)
News Article Have you heard that Skydive Sebastian hosted the last FSL meet in January 2003?
posted: Jan 18th, 2003 The first meet of the Florida Skydiving League 2003 brought seven teams to Skydive Sebastian on a very cold morning. The host was well prepared for the start of the FSL 2003 season with a Skyvan to fly the local 16-way team and fun jumpers and a Twinotter for the teams. Both aircraft are from Cross Keys, NJ. The event location was the site of the USPA Nationals in 1999 and is set up very well for a competition. While the jumpers had above average facilities and aircraft, the NSL staff was spoiled by the location. Chief Judge Richard Schachner had his own almost private judging room. NSL President... (more)
News Article Have you heard that you should "see the point, feel the tail and trust the outside center"?
posted: Jul 18th, 2002 There are a lot of contemporary topics to cover, despite the worldwide break for Formation Skydiving competition, due to the corona virus crisis. SDC Rhythm XP's change in the lineup was the most recent breaking news, and the latest event update came from Europe, where the ESL Championship was finally canceled and rescheduled for 2021. However, the NSL News will continue to fill in any news gaps with unpublished information from the past to present the history of Formation Skydiving competition since 1985 as completely as possible. This time, original Airspeed Vertical member Neal Houston is... (more)
