News Article Did you know that a new management has new plans for the 2007 season in Georgia?
posted: Jan 18th, 2007 The new year brings new competition and event schedules for the NSL affiliated leagues. The NSL News will publish updates with new information of each league whenever the planning phase has been completed. The Georgia Skydiving League is one of the oldest leagues in the country and launched its first season in the summer of 1997, together with the Texas Skydiving League. Florida, Georgia and Texas then joined forces and formed the National Skydiving League in 1998. The NSL website began to publish GSL information in 1998. News Article Did you know that scores from Georgia have been added to last weekend's results?
posted: Mar 26th, 2006 The NSL News had mentioned before the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2006 that two other leagues had scheduled their first meets of the 2006 season, as well. Texas Skydiving League Director Ryan Smith had bad news after the weekend. The event at Skydive Spaceland was completely weathered out. The weather situation was much better for the Roaming DZ Dublin Boogie, the season opener for the Georgia Skydiving League 2006. News Article Did you know that the Georgia Skydiving League teams and management relocated on a short notice?
posted: May 31st, 2005 The second meet of the Georgia Skydiving League 2005 season was held Saturday, May 28, at Skydive Atlanta in Thomaston, GA. First of all, the GSL would like to extend a big thanks to Skydive Atlanta and Skydive Monroe for being able to work with the GSL and be willing to switch meet locations on short notice. Also, many thanks to the competitors for helping to spread the word of the change and for coming down to SDA on such short notice! GSL Meet 2 saw a great turnout with six teams showing up to compete. News Article Did you know that the Georgia Skydiving League had a successful season opener?
posted: Mar 21st, 2005 The 2005 GSL Season Opener was held Saturday, March 19 in Dublin, Georgia at the 2nd Annual RoamingDZ Dublin Boogie. First of all, the GSL would like to thank RoamingDZ, its organizers, staff, and supporters for hosting the GSL and helping to make it a success. The weather was perfect and an excellent start to the 2005 season. The GSL was able to run the Grand Caravan for the meet. Everything ran exceptionally smoothly and the competition was strong. Six teams showed up to compete, a very strong showing especially since the meet was not held at a traditional dropzone. Two teams competed... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Georgia Skydiving League beat the weather on the second day of the meet?
posted: Jun 9th, 2004 The second GSL meet of the season was held at Atlanta Skydiving Center in Cedartown, Georgia on May 29th. Five teams showed up ready to compete: Inviscid and Kinesis in the Advanced Class and GT Airlock, GT Fusion, and Intrepid in the Intermediate Class. Unlike the first meet of the season at Skydive Monroe, poor weather kept the teams on the ground for the duration of the day. The teams were released early in the evening.Because the meet had to be continued on Sunday, neither Intrepid nor GT Airlock was able to return to compete in the Intermediate Class. Did you know that the scores from Georgia are completing last weekend's competition results?
posted: Apr 29th, 2004 The first GSL meet of the season was held at the10th Annual Skydive Monroe Boogie with thanks to Paul Fayard, and his CASA. With all teams exiting at 10,500 with 35 seconds of working time the meet went without a hitch. Seven teams competed at this year’s GSL season opener with three Rookie Class teams: GT Air Lock, Funnel Cakes, and Fresh Meat.Fresh Meat was a pick-up team with boogie jumpers from across the southeast. Funnel Cakes is the local Monroe team competing together for their second year. GT Air Lock is the new Georgia Tech team from Skydive Atlanta and won the Rookie Class competition.M4.1... (more)
