Did you know that the faster engineering might have won the gold medal at the Malevsky Cup 2004? posted: Jul 23rd, 2004 How much closer could it be? DeLand Majik was one point behind France Maubeuge going into round ten. It was already exciting enough to watch how the US team reduced the French three-point lead to one point, frame by frame in the first two rounds of the last meet day. The teams have been so close to each other in rounds eight and nine that it was difficult to imagine a difference of more than one point in a round. (more)
Did you know that a new round of the Southwest Skydiving League is now on NSL-TV? posted: Jul 22nd, 2004 The recent NSL-TV coverage of the Malevsky Cup 2004 took away a lot of attention from the usual NSL-TV coverage of the NSL meets. After a little reminder from the audience, it is now time to continue with meets that have been on a hold for a while. The Malevsky Cup coverage is almost at the end anyway, only round ten is missing, which will be added later today. (more)

Did you know that Indiana Skydiving League team Fastrax posted their first impressive scores last weekend? posted: Jul 21st, 2004 The weather did not cooperate very well at Skydive Wayne County last weekend. However, six teams managed to complete four rounds, and AAA Class team Fastrax posted scores for the first two rounds before the team had to leave the competition site. The first Fastrax scores have been anticipated with curiosity since the team has been trainig hard and on a very professional level with player coach Niklas Hemlin. The other Fastrax members are Billy Andrews, Eric Gin, team manager and sponsor John Hart, and John Judy on video.

Did you know that Al Altendorfer and the weather both had beautiful comebacks in the CanAm Skydiving League? posted: Jul 20th, 2004 CanAm Skydiving League director Scott Anderson began his meet report with an unusual opening: "Something strange happened at Meet #2 of the CanAm league. No one was quite sure what to make of it.......It was sunny and winds were low!" No wonder, it is not unusual that skydiving events north of the border have serious weather problems. The first attempt of CanAm meet this year had been weathered out already.
Maybe the weather god decided not to be in the way of Al Altendorfer's comeback as a meet judge for the CanAm Skydiving League. Altendorfer was one of the CanAm founders and helped a lot... (more)
Did you know that teams and competitors shared cash, prizes, medals and drinks at the Karp Cup 2004? posted: Jul 20th, 2004 The Cross Keys MASL hosted the 3rd annual Karp Cup meet Saturday in honor of former Jetstream member Seth Karp, who was in a fatal landing accident in 2002. Seven teams showed up for the meet, coming from as far away as Ohio, making this the largest Formation Skydiving meet yet held at Cross Keys.
Seth Karp’s father, Martin Karp, donated $1,000 for cash prizes to honor his son’s memory. DZO John Eddowes matched that mount bringing the purse to $2,000 to be divided among the winning teams in the various classes. Meet director Mike Minicozzi had also done a great deal of legwork securing sponsors... (more)
