Did you know that Florida teams dominated Intermediate and Advanced at USPA Nationals between 1998 and 2000? posted: Dec 19th, 1998 The NSL News mentioned in the first article of the new series of USPA Advanced Class champions that ZSpot from Skydive City won the first USPA Advanced Class medals, even though the 4-way category was not the same in 1998 as it is today. It was much more similar to the current Intermediate Class.
ZSpot moved up into the new Advanced Class of 1999, which was permitted by USPA, as dive pool and rules changed significantly. ZSpot were eventually not far from winning two sets of USPA consecutively after the 3rd place in 1999. Only five points separated the team from the new Advanced Class gold medals... (more)
Did you know that we can forget quite easily some of the major purposes of our sport? posted: Dec 11th, 1998 The recent August meet of the Midwest Skydiving League brought back thoughts of the very beginnings of the National Skydiving League in this area of the United States.
Florida, Texas and Georgia had joined forces with their 4-way leagues in 1998, and their league champions (Genesis/PD Blue, Convergence, Mr. Pink) competed for the first time for the NSL Championship in November 1998 at Skydive DeLand. Several new leagues grew in the winter of 1998/1999, including the Illinois Skydiving League that Andre Wiese initiated at the Chicagoland Skydiving Center in Hinckly.

Did you know that NSL News Archives and NSL Live Talk Podcast offer new features? posted: Dec 4th, 1998 The NSL website in its current format has posted scores, videos, news updates and other information of Formation Skydiving training and competition since January 2003. However, the National Skydiving League was already several years old when SKYLEAGUE.COM was re-designed by Craig Buxton and then re-launched.
The updates of the earlier years have not been published, except for a few selected random stories, even though many of the teams and competitors are well-known, and some of them are very actively involved in the sport.
