Did you know that Arizona Airspeed have paperwork on their agenda too? posted: Dec 10th, 2024 Arizona Airspeed is now in the middle of their first training camp with the new lineup that the NSL News has introduced comprehensively in the past weeks. The move of new team member Alisson De Vargas from Brazil to the United States was one of the major related topics and has been discussed by the most experienced competitors and coaches in the sport.
The conclusions included the fact that there is nothing unusual when competitors change their countries that they have been competing for, and the Arizona Airspeed lineups of the past themselves have been the best examples. The authorities in... (more)
Did you know that Airdrops and WingX travel to Netherlands and Spain for their world meet qualification? posted: Dec 9th, 2024 It is not unusual any longer that national indoor championship are hosted by windtunnels in a different country. The NSL News reported on November 6th that 4-way teams from Denmark had to travel to Sweden if they wanted to compete at the indoor nationals.
The travel distance to the national indoor championship was even longer for British 4-way teams who competed for their medals and positions at Weembi Lille in France, as the update on November 17th explained. Did you know that the 2024 battle for USPA 8-way bronze medals was the closest one since 2008? posted: Dec 8th, 2024 The 8-way Open Class competition at the USPA National Championship 2024 did not feature much excitement on the very top of the leaderboard. The event was more or less a warm-up situation for GKXP8, even though they would not have much opposition at the 26th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships, as well.
Prison 9 had the opportunity to move up from 3rd places in 2022 and 2023 to the silver medal position this year, as neither Arizona Airspeed nor Golden Knights fielded 8-way lineups. It was the first time in the NSL News records that both U.S. 8-way institutions missed the national outdoor... (more)
Did you know that SDC Rhythm XP continue with Greg Oldendick? posted: Dec 7th, 2024 The 4th place of SDC Rhythm XP at the USPA National Championship 2024 was the team's lowest placement on the 4-way Open Class leaderboard since 2011. In fact, the progression on the annual national outdoor championships between 2009 and 2019 (6th to 1st) was flawless and perfect, while it has gone the other direction between 2019 and 2024 (1st to 4th).
The U.S. national 4-way Open Class team of 2020/2021 came naturally to their peak level when the lineup was most consistent between 2016 and 2021. Arizona Airspeed's lineup did not change at all since 2020, while SDC Rhythm XP went through several... (more)
Did you know that Airdrops won the Swiss duel in Roosendaal? posted: Dec 6th, 2024 The AAA Class competition at the ISR Grand Prix 2024 included an interesting duel between two teams from Switzerland, who would both be eligible for 4-way Women competition. Their duel took place on the traditional leaderboard, as only the Weembinamic has a format with direct confrontation between two teams and elimination of one of them.
Airdrops and WingX both completed all eight rounds at the event and were separated by two points at the end of the day. The same two teams had met each other only once before, at the Swiss Indoor Nationals 2024, where Airdrops still won by nine points after... (more)

It was only an 8-way competition by then, before it was quickly extended to 4-way a year later.
Julien Degen, former French 4-way and 8-way world champion, and his staff at Weembi Lille created a combination of traditional Formation Skydiving competition and an elimination format, where teams continued with duels through the next rounds and into the final battle for the official winning position.
All participating teams still complete ten rounds... (more)
