Did you know that the latest NSL Talk session included a Fun Flag update? posted: Aug 3rd, 2010 The second NSL Talk session on Tuesday took place after the 4-way teams arrived at the dropzone and while they prepared for their first jumps of the day. The coaches had finished their work with the teams and had time to join the NSL Talk session.
It was a special group, as Gary Smith, Solly Williams and NSL Talk host Joey Jones were DeLand Majik team mates when they won the World Meet 2004 in Croatia. Lenka Mazaeva joined the group by coincidence. The former Lady Birds member came to greet her former coach Solly Williams and could not escape before the camera was running.

Did you know that Rookie turned into Cookie in Round 6? posted: Aug 3rd, 2010 The 8-way scores are telling the whole story by themselves. It has now turned into a 2-team battle, as the Russian Barkli team fell too far behind in Round 6. Barkli tied the US and French 22-pointers in Round 5, and the meet was neutralized for a round.
Then Round 6 brought the US team fully back into the gold medal business. Aerodyne Cypres Maubeuge and Golden Knights completed the same number of formations in working time, but the French team lost another two points in the judging room. The total French damage has gone up to four points, while the Golden Knights have had a totally clean meet... (more)
Did you know that Tuesday's 8-way jumps seem to have special importance? posted: Aug 3rd, 2010 Next thing on Tuesday morning was a conversation with French national coach Jérôme David who is in charge of Formation Skydiving competition in France. He has been a member of the French delegation for 21 years now, first as a competitor, then as a coach and national manager of the FS events.
He can look back at a very successful career, and the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2010 may turn out as the peak in the coaching part. At the moment, France is in first place in all three FS events, and his former team mate Philippe Schorno is guiding the French VRW team towards gold medals,... (more)
Did you know that NSL-TV catches up with videos of Round 4 in the female 4-way competition? posted: Aug 3rd, 2010 Tuesday morning begins with 8-way competition, Vertical Relative Work and the Artistic Events. All 4-way teams will start their day in the afternoon.
There is no doubt that the second day of the 8-way competition will be extremely exciting and telling. It seems like Aerodyne Cypres Maubeuge created the 3-point lead by trying as hard as the team potential allows, while the US Army team puts the scores out as they were expected after an intensive training schedule.
The Golden Knights want to win, no doubt, and they cannot expect the French 8-way team to slow down. Coach Erwan Pouliquen is a... (more)
Did you know that the 2-point difference turned into 7 points in Round 5? posted: Aug 2nd, 2010 Round 5 was not a happy round for several teams in the 4-way Open Class at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2010.
Only a few teams got through the sequence without trouble and/or penalties. Aerokart Cypres Maubeuge was one of those, and the French team created a new 2-point lead over Arizona Airspeed. Italy's team Sinapsi was the other one with a 20-pointer that put the standings back in order as of Germany as a challenger and redeemed for the previous round.
No other jumps of the top teams seemed to go very smoothly, and addional penalties added to the damage. Hayabusa (-2),... (more)
Did you know that Aerokart Deep Blue is the 9th team to beat the previous world record? posted: Aug 2nd, 2010 The French officials were a little bit worried before the fast sequence of Round 3 was on the agenda for Aerokart Deep Blue. They knew that especially the British girls of Team Bodyflight would be dangerous in this specific area. The demanding lead could have been threatened if the French team had a bad round.
It was no problem. Deep Blue was the 9th team that beat the previous world record of 45 points with a 47, after a 1-point penalty. It was impressive how Deep Blue avoided a meltdown with high awareness when the synchronization got lost once. The team hesitated, got everybody back on track... (more)
