News Article Did you know that Jack Jefferies commented for the NSL News today?
posted: Oct 13th, 2009 The NSL News night shift begins with the most important part of the sport - the videos of the competition jumps. USPA and CamScore provided the NSL News with the video files of the competition jumps, so the audience can enjoy reviews of some of the many meet jumps. Four rounds were completed on Monday and Tuesday, videos of two of these rounds have been uploaded and feature the Top 4 teams in the Open Class competition. The presentation begins with the videos of Round 1 where Arizona Airspeed took the lead right away and was the only team that got to the 20-point level. This video can be found... (more)
News Article Did you know that the NSL-TV camera followed the top teams in Round 3?
posted: Oct 13th, 2009 Airspeed took the lead back in Round 3 by a point over Spaceland, Fury tied Spaceland’s 23-pointer but lost a video point after the exit. The Golden Knights lost a point too, and Fury has the 3rd place alone now. The NSL News followed Airspeed on their heels and filmed the other three top teams while they got ready for Round 3. The meet director already changed the jump order. The Top 4 (Airspeed, Spaceland Force, Perris Fury, Golden Knights) are now in the same Twin Otter. It was interesting to see them all together. They will have this situation for seven more rounds. The NSL-TV camera... (more)
News Article Did you know that Airspeed followed up on Craig Girard's prediction?
posted: Oct 13th, 2009 The last missing video can now be reviewed, as well. It it actually very interesting, as it is another round of NSL Talk, and the guests are also discussing the competition draw, including the 3-block challenge of Round 1. Perris Fury members Christy Frikken and Chris Farina, Airspeed's Craig Girard, Golden Knight Brian "BK" Krause and Paraclete's Kirk Verner took the time to chat with the NSL News in front of the hangar, still without much activity in the landing area. This has obviously changed now, as the whole place is very busy to use the weather situation. (more)
News Article Did you know that more videos have now been uploaded?
posted: Oct 12th, 2009 Uploading the video files was no problem at the hotel, and the first videos can already be reviewed. They feature the opening ceremony and the first preparations of the teams right after the competition draw, and they are embedded in the related story. The next video included scenes on Monday morning when things became very busy all of a sudden. This video is embedded in the next story that explained why the footage cannot be uploaded timely. It was a strange situation, unlike any other championship competition. The jumpable weather situation came surprisingly, and the meet director reacted... (more)
News Article Did you know that VTSD combines talent with meet experience?
posted: Oct 12th, 2009 The NSL Poll for the Intermediate Class competition has been removed now, as the first scores have already been posted. The teams that were listed and expected to be some of the top contenders have lived up to these expectations in Round 1. VTSD and Spaceland Mamba were two of the three listed teams in the poll, and they are on the top of the Intermediate Class leaderboard after the first round. Perris Jimani, the third team, has not made the first jump yet. The Virginia Tech College team is already three points ahead of the pack after the 12-pointer in Round 1. Mamba has outscored all other... (more)
News Article Did you know that NSL-TV videos will be uploaded later?
posted: Oct 12th, 2009 This morning, the teams were first released until 10:30 am, then until 2:30 pm, as nothing indicated any chances of jumping conditions at any time soon. However, all of a sudden the cloud cover broke, and a huge hole of blue skies was teasing teams, competitors and officials. It was about a 1-hour hole, and the competition was not ready to use it to the full extent, as most teams did not plan to be at the dropzone at that time. It took a while to organize and manifest the present teams, which then had to be put on an official call. Eventually, one load made it up in time before the cloud... (more)
