posted: May 29th, 2009 The next meet weekend is already coming up, while the NSL News is still trying to catch up with the events of last weekend. The new record number of 86 teams beats the previous NSL highscore of 84 teams on the leaderboard, which was posted on the June 21 weekend last year. The weather was a well contributing factor last weekend. It is actually quite amazing that each of the nine events in the USA and Europe completed all scheduled rounds. The Rookie Class teams of the Carolina Skydiving League have only four rounds on their meet agenda. All other teams completed six rounds, except the French... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Mideast Skydiving League launched the 2009 season successfully?
posted: May 28th, 2009 In spite of a weather forecast that predicted rain, thunderstorms, cats & dogs living together, and the end of civilization as we know it, five teams came out to enjoy a full Memorial Day weekend of jumping. All six rounds were completed with plenty of time left to enjoy the evening. Most of the teams have been in some form of training this spring. Members of Fastrax and Wait & See were donating their time to assist the young teams with engineering, exit and flying tips. In the AA Class, our new ladies team, Tenacity, exploded out of the gate to take the day with 48 points. They've been working... (more)
News Article Did you know that Norway added four new teams to the current leaderboard?
posted: May 26th, 2009 The scores of all European teams of last weekend's competition are now posted on the leaderboard, and they include four teams from Norway. The NSL News reported on 13 May 2009 that Norway would join the international NSL Network this year. The first synchronized meet was completed last weekend, and IPC Delegate Trude Sviggum provided scores and meet information. The competiton was held at Oestre Aera, which is the official training center for the Norwegian national teams. It is located close to Rena with a driving distance of approx. 2.5 hours north from Oslo. (more)
News Article Did you know that Monaco Parachute Team is still on the top of the leaderboard?
posted: May 25th, 2009 The scores from France were the first ones arriving at the NSL headquarters. IPC Delegate and 1st Vice-President Gillian Winter, who was also the Chief Judge of the first Coupe de France 2009 competition, provided the scores and additional information. She reported that the host used three jump planes, a Casa, a Pilatus Porter and a Twin Otter. The weather was in favor of the competition, and the French teams completed all rounds well in time. News Article Did you know that Sebastian Tempest members are responsible for this weekend's competition draw?
posted: May 23rd, 2009 The videos of Rounds 5 and 6 of the Florida Skydiving League meet last weekend in Sebastian wrap up the coverage of this event. The first four rounds were already part of the NSL News stories on 16 May 2009 and 18 May 2009. The FSL Rookie Class teams caught most of the attention, and the only AAA Class team in Sebastian, home team Tempest, posted a 13.8 average almost unnoticed. By the way: the teams of the Colorado Skydiving League have now been added to last weekend's leaderboard, as well, and another Rookie Class team joined the competition. News Article Did you know that the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2009 features the same Top 3 as in 2008?
posted: May 22nd, 2009 The next opportunity for the rest of the world to beat the Airspeed 4-way world champions is coming up in June. It will be another indoor competition where Eliana Rodriguez, Craig Girard, Mark Kirkby and Andy Delk will try to defend their 17 - 0 winning streak. The 17th victory came with £5,000 at the World Challenge 2009. The Paraclete XP Indoor Skydiving Championship 2009 on the June 13 weekend offers $6,500 for the winner of the Open Class competition. The Paraclete XP meet is another competition where Airspeed also defends the title of the past two years. The reigning world champions... (more)
