News Article Did you know that Team Fastrax could be in the way of the complete Airspeed sweep?
posted: Oct 16th, 2006 The NSL News has begun with the coverage of the USPA Nationals 2006. Several stories were already related to the competition that will start on Sunday in Eloy. The event pages have now been added, and more stories will follow very soon. The USPA Nationals 2006 are not the qualification event for the next World Championship of Formation Skydiving, 2006 is a so-called "off-year" for the US teams. However, there is still enough meaning in the race for the top spots on the AAA/Open Class leaderboard. (more)
News Article Did you know that Natasha Montgomery and Thomas Hughes re-build the front piece for Airspeed Velocity?
posted: Oct 13th, 2006 The NSL News story on October 10 introduced a new world class line-up with three of the current 4-way world champions of DeLand Fire, Gary Smith, Shannon Pilcher and Ian Bobo. Solly Williams is the fourth member of this team. The same story mentioned that the NSL News will follow up with the plans of the remaining two former DeLand Fire members, Natasha Montgomery (Point) and Thomas Hughes (Alternate). Actually, it did not take too much imagination to speculate successfully on the couple's plans. Thomas Hughes has trained and competed with Arizona Airspeed this year. The Airspeed focus was set... posted: Oct 12th, 2006 Round 3 of the NSL Playoffs 2006 weekend in Elsinore has now been uploaded, and the scores page has the NSL-TV icon behind all scores that have videos of this round available. Once again, all highscores of round three can be viewed, except the best Rookie Class jump. NotIt! won the whole Rookie Class competition with a 7.3 average, as well. The results of the playoffs weekend moved NotIt! up... (more)
News Article Did you know that EADS will focus on the 8-way event in the future?
posted: Oct 11th, 2006 The NSL News offered an overview of the situation in Formation Skydiving competition in Germany earlier this year. The last article on September 12 reported that the German national 4-way team at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2006, EADS, won the 4-way and 8-way competition of the DFV-Cup a few weeks after the World Meet. The double victory in 4-way and 8-way is still a very special feature and happens very rarely on a national level. It has never been achieved to date at a world championship. USA and France both gave it a try in the past and did not succeed. (more)
News Article Did you know that the DeLand Fire members continue in different line-ups?
posted: Oct 10th, 2006 It has been quiet around the DeLand Fire members since the World Meet 2006, where Natasha Montgomery, Gary Smith, Shannon Pilcher, Ian Bobo and Jonathan Taggle won the gold medals in the 4-way competition. The NSL News uploaded the video of an interview with Natasha Montgomery on September 5, and the story on October 4 offered information about the canopy piloting 4-way world champions of the PD Factory Team. This article mentioned that DeLand Fire has disbanded. The NSL News asked the DeLand Fire members for an update and plans for the future. PD Factory Team members Shannon Pilcher and... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Fun Flag was stolen out of Jack Jefferies' hand on the podium in 2001?
posted: Oct 7th, 2006 The last part of the Fun Flag story on September 28 mentioned that "Spa Hayabusa members apparently took possession of the Fun Flag at the World Meet 2006 in Germany". This assumption has now become a fact, and the NSL News will get to this issue later. First of all, the story continues with additional comments, which were provided by Omniskore in 2001. Molly Mercer, who was mentioned by Tim Wagner in his contribution, added her comments during the World Meet 2001 in Spain. It was the time when the whole history of the Fun Flag was explored, initiated by Chris Wagner. Here is what Molly Mercer... (more)
