News Article Did you know that Alakran split the military teams on the Spanish outdoor leaderboard?
posted: Oct 13th, 2021 Teams from Spain have appeared mostly on indoor leaderboards that the NSL News has generated. One of the major indoor events, the Wind Games, has even taken place in Empuriabrava in the past years. The national 4-way teams from Spain who participated at FAI World Championships of Formation Skydiving were naturally on all the world meet leadernboards since 1985, as well. Spain was actually a consistent factor at world meets and was represented at each event between 1985 and 2006. The following long break between 2006 and 2018 was only interrupted once when a Spanish 4-way team competed in Dubai... (more)
News Article Did you know that Kirk Verner won new FAI gold 26 years after his first one with Airspeed?
posted: Oct 12th, 2021 The FAI Tanay Mondial 2020 is in the history books by now, while the aftermath has continued for a while and is not over yet at all. The NSL News usually launches the coverage of the major events with previews and provides live coverage from the competition site, as well, whenever the funding and the logistics allow this to happen. One of the previews before this year's world meet was published on July 18th, and it covered the run-up to the 8-way competition in Tanay. Airspeed XP8 were in training at Skydive Paraclete and at the Paraclete XP windtunnel, right after the completion of an Arizona... (more)
News Article Did you know that Oceanside AtomiX continue with the same lineup and the same goals?
posted: Oct 11th, 2021 The unfortunate 2020/2021 team story of Oceanside AtomiX has not ended. A new update from Germany confirmed that the team has made plans to continue. It was actually a team fairytale first and only turned into the dramatic and unfortunate situation when the complete German Formation Skydiving delegation withdrew from the participation at the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020. Oceanside AtomiX had brought the team story to the happiest and most successful point, when four original team members (Andrea Kleinschmidt, Peter Ingenhaag, Holger Sass and videographer Lars Naeve) finally made it to the top in Germany... posted: Oct 11th, 2021 The NSL New reported the interesting situation in Brazil at and after the July meet of the Brazilian Tunnel League with the update on July 29th. Former and current CTR Optimum members competed with and against each other in different lineups. The newly formed Optimum Prime lineup won in July and now came back to compete again at the September meet. The three members of the previous CTR Optimum lineup (George Narita, Jorge Neto, Alisson Vargas) replaced team founder André Ferraz with Ricardo Pereira after the July indoor meet. The NSL News then reported on October 5th that the new CTR Optimum... (more)
News Article Did you know that Skydive City is hosting the next Shamrock Showdown in March 2022?
posted: Oct 9th, 2021 The first preview of the Shamrock Showdown 2021 explained in June 2020 that the event will again be a starting point for the new world meet season. It was the time after the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020 was canceled and rescheduled for August 2021, and the annual Shamrock Showdown had fallen victim to the corona virus crisis, as well. Both events still suffered heavily just a year later. Travel restrictions and other implications kept the participation at the world meet on the lowest level in the history of Formation Skydiving competition since 1985, and the Shamrock Showdown did not do much better... News Article Did you know that iFLY Dallas has a clean Indoor Cloud League scoring record for 2021?
posted: Oct 7th, 2021 Kyle Hermberg's Indoor Cloud League team at iFLY Dallas is the only participating indoor group that has not missed any of the monthly sequences this year. He did have his own pandemic-related break though, as there were no events at iFLY Dallas between April and September 2020. The iFLY Dallas team ended up in 4th place on the broken annual ICL leaderboard of 2020. There was no ICL team during the worst time period of the corona virus crisis that came through the year without missing scores. Hurricane Factory and Paraclete XP made the best out of it with three missing months each. The... (more)
