News Article Did you know that Paraclete XP scores and videos for December complete the ICL 2020 leaderboard?
posted: Jan 27th, 2021 The 2020 leaderboard of the Indoor Cloud League is finally complete, even though it does not look much like that. The corona virus pandemic put a large hole into it, and it will probably still take a while until it looks again like it did at the end of the 2019 season. Nothing has changed on the top of the leaderboard where Hurricane Factory and Paraclete XP keep dominating the monthly events. However, the ICL Midwest team, with SDMW NEXT members Megan George and Lauren Byrd organizing the events, joined the Indoor Cloud League only in August 2020 and won three of the five months. There is a... (more)
News Article Did you know that all R2G members now have higher goals than USPA double-gold?
posted: Jan 26th, 2021 The story of consecutive USPA double-gold in Intermediate (AA) and Advanced (AAA) Class competition is still not over yet. The NSL News research resulted in a total of nine 4-way competitors (plus videographers James Sides and Adam Elkin) who have accomplished this special achievement in the history of USPA Nationals. James "Bu" Klinge and Jim Walker were the first double-gold winners, both with Juggernaut in 2002, then with Spaceland Inferno the following year. Andrew Happick, Doug Barron, Joey Coffineau, Ben Worrall and videographer James Sides did the same with their complete lineup and different... (more)
News Article Did you know that James "Bu" Klinge is not far behind Doug Barron and Andrew Happick?
posted: Jan 23rd, 2021 The recent NSL News updates covered the few teams and competitors who have won USPA gold medals in 4-way Intermediate (AA) and 4-way Advanced (AAA) consecutively at the national championships. The series of articles began when Skydive Midwest NEXT visited Skydive Sebastian for an outdoor winter camp. Team founder Megan George was in the NEXT lineups of 2015 and 2016 who accomplished the USPA double-gold, and she reminded the NSL News that VTSD/Carolina Turbo XP did the same in 2009/2010. Yesterdays follow-up story added the information and pointed out that current SDC Rhythm XP members Andrew... (more)
News Article Did you know that Andrew Happick and Doug Barron have a USPA gold medal collection like nobody else?
posted: Jan 22nd, 2021 The recent visit of the NSL News at Skydive Sebastian included a new NSL Live Talk conversation with Skydive Midwest NEXT. The USPA Advanced Class champions of 2016 are back with a new lineup after a 2-year break. The conversation with the team touched an interesting topic that deserved more attention. It is actually only one team member who is now back with the new lineup, and Megan George is also the founder of the team. The previous update included a brief overview of the history of Skydive Midwest NEXT. Megan George and her 2016/2017 team mates accomplished something that has not happened... (more)
News Article Did you know that Agera FS 2022 is the first team on the NSL Cloud Mondial January leaderboard?
posted: Jan 21st, 2021 Agera FS 2022 has been in the NSL News since the team was founded in 2019. The Norwegian team caught the attention of the NSL News first time in Kjetil Nordin's update from the Norwegian Nationals the same year. The new and young team finished only in 2nd place behind a pick-up team with experienced Norwegian 4-way competitors (Yngve Bøe Haugom, Ulrik Høgsberg, Pål Kolbenstvedt, Kjetil Nordin). The next update from Norway on 16 March 2020 featured the team a year later with videos from a training camp in DeLand, Florida, and with NSL Live Talk recorded during the same outdoor training camp. Agera... (more)
News Article Did you know that the road to the most exciting 8-way competition could be open again?
posted: Jan 19th, 2021 NSL News updates have covered the gradual comeback of Airspeed XP8 member Matt Davidson regularly. There is one special reason why his comeback deserves more attention than others. The NSL News had explained on 3 December 2019 that only Matt Davidson could complete his own Decade of 8-way Excellence by winning his 5th consecutive FAI gold medal at the next world meet. Other updates continued with the same topic regularly, before and after his hip surgery. He joined XP8 indoor training not too long after the hip surgery and scheduled his outdoor comeback for December, with the XP8 training camp... (more)
