... that the HF Cubs were back in full strength for the Indoor Cloud League?

Back in full strength: HF Cubs with Jan Klapka
posted Jan 20th, 2020 - January has once again been a very busy month for the Czech 4-way teams. The first month of the new year began with the 3rd meet of the Czech Tunnel League's winter season on January 8th. The NSL News reported on January 10th that the teams needed several alternates and substitutes for the event.

Ten days later, the Hurricane Factory hosted the annual Czech Indoor Open Championship that none of the Czech AAA Class teams were missing. The HF Cubs were back in full strength and with the complete lineup, and result was the 26.5 average at the end of the 10-round meet.

HF Flying Circus, who had finished ahead of the Cubs with a new team record average at the previous 10-round meet in January, could not even stay close at the Czech Indoor Open, after a slow start with too many penalties. It was the second time that the HF Cubs outscored HF Flying Circus at a 10-round meet.

The NSL News had pointed out on 17 November 2019 that the HF Cubs had taken the indoor top spot in the Czech Republic after defeating HF Flying Circus at the November meet of the World Tunnel League. HF Flying Circus fought back at the first January meet and ended up again in 2nd place last weekend.

27.4 average with Super Sequence at the Flyspot Polish Open
The HF Cubs have a 27.4 average for a 10-round meet in the team records that they posted at the Flyspot Polish Open 2019. However, the scoring level for all AAA Class teams in Poland was boosted by a Super Sequence in Round 4 (B,C,F,G,L) where the HF Cubs posted a 45-pointer. Last weekend's 26.5 average at the Czech Indoor Open may have an even higher value.

The new Czech national team in 4-way Women seems to pick up the pace once again in the run-up to the FAI Indoor World Cup 2020 in April. It is not only the 26.5 average for the last ten rounds that indicates a higher performance and scoring level in the making.

The Czech Indoor Cloud League team at the Hurricane Factory also managed to complete the January competition early, and the HF Cubs outscored HF Flying Circus with the total for the two Open Class sequences (AAA - AA), as well. The 60 points for the two sequences is the highest contribution for the two categories by the HF Cubs and higher than scores by any other Czech AAA Class teams in the ICL history.

A total of 11 teams competed for the highest scores on the Indoor Cloud League leaderboard, and nine of them had also attended the Czech Indoor Open Championship.

New Czech 4-way juniors ready for 4-way action
Just the HF Cubs' total of 60 points for the two Open Class sequences alone, and the 4-point advantage over HF Flying Circus for each of them, might even impress the currently two best 4-way Women teams in the world, Nephtys Weembi (France) and NFTO (Great Britain), who will both follow up shortly with their own scores at the Wind Games.

Jan Klapka's 4-way juniors took care once again of the other four Indoor Cloud League sequences for January. HF Dragonflies and HF Flying Rebels had their next battle for the A Class highscore. The Rebels won the internal 4-way Junior competition in AA/A (41 - 34) and the Dragonflies present the 20-pointer for the A Class sequence. Junior team Rusalky scored the 17 points for the RRR Class sequence.

New 4-way junior team HF Invisible will soon be out of the R and RR competition, after two 33-pointers for January. They already perform the RRR and A sequences to get ready for the next level of 4-way progression, and Jan Klapka is facing the same problem that he had to deal with not too long ago. His 4-way juniors are learning very quickly, and he needs new fliers for the Rookie Class categories.

It's a good problem to have, and he seems to be prepared for it. HF Junior Blue and HF Junior Green posted their next Indoor Cloud League Rookie Class scores...
