News Article Did you know that Hot Flash gave Funnel Approach a hot competition in Texas?
posted: Jul 3rd, 2009 Seven teams attended the second meet of the Texas Skydiving League 2009 season at Skydive Dallas last weekend and almost matched the attendance of the season opener at Skydive Spaceland. Two teams from Spaceland (BS5, Funnel Approach) visited Skydive Dallas after a season start with only home teams from Spaceland at the May meet, except Hot Flash. All home teams from Dallas attended their first competition this year, while BS5, Funnel Approach and Hot Flash posted their second set of meet scores. Both visiting teams from Spaceland took the first places in their categories, BS5 in the AA Class... (more)
News Article Did you know that Texas is back with Havoc?
posted: Jun 6th, 2009 Last weekend's scores are still on the leaderboard, while teams in Austria and Germany are working on new numbers this weekend. It was a very interesting coincidence that last weekend's events were hosted by the longest standing leagues in the country. The NSL News reported yesterday that the Georgia Skydiving League had a comeback after two years of hibernation and mentioned the oldest league, the Virginia Parachute Council, which had its season opener last weekend, as well. The third US league that launched the 2009 season last weekend had also joined forces with Georgia and Florida in... (more)
News Article Did you know that Skydive Dallas sponsors a new 8-way project?
posted: May 2nd, 2009 The NSL News story on 3 April 2009 mentioned that the Texas Skydiving League is back in the NSL Network. Texas is the only league that includes 8-way competition at the meets of the regular season and has its own separate 8-way championship event. Skydive Dallas has an 8-way tradition, and top competitors from different parts of the USA have now joined forces to form a new 8-way lineup for the 2009 season. Team member Ron Hill provided more details of the 8-way project. When John Kuczaj took over as the new Manager of Skydive Dallas, he wanted to continue Skydive Dallas’s history of supporting... News Article Did you know that Texas Skydiving League teams needed a jump-off round to find a winner?
posted: Jul 11th, 2006 Last weekend's leaderboard is complete. The scores of the national championship in the Netherlands are posted in a separate scoring table since the meet management applied a separate competition draw. The meet began already in the middle of last week and was not synchronized with the NSL/ESL competition draw. The Dutch 4-way fans will provide a meet story later. This left three scheduled NSL events on last weekend's agenda, and the Colorado Skydiving League competition was completely weathered out. However, the weather in the neighbour state Texas was obviously much better, and two additional... (more)
News Article Did you know that Texas Skydiving League teams posted record scores at season finals?
posted: Oct 13th, 2005 The Texas Skydiving League held the very last competition of the regular 2005 season with its championship event at Skydive Spaceland last weekend. The weather was not very supportive, however, TSL Director Ryan Smith and the dz staff managed to complete five rounds when the conditions were good enough for a while. The relatively fast competition draw offered the TSL teams the opportunity to finish the 2005 season with high scores, and almost each team posted the highest meet average this year. Spaceland Thunder with Kelly Fredrickson (Point), Scott Latinis (Center Inside), Lou Massey (Tail)... (more)
News Article Did you know that NSL SkyVenture Orlando Competition results have finally caught up?
posted: Aug 31st, 2005 The NSL SkyVenture Orlando Competition results of two more meet weekends are now available. This update completes all NSL meets of the regular season. Only the scores of the NSL Playoffs 2005 weekend on August 20 - 21 still need to be processed before the results after handicap can be posted and the certificates get on the way to Perris. Southwest Skydiving League teams were the big winners of the meet weekend on July 30, 2005, and won each competition class after handicap, except the Rookie Class. The new Austrian national team FILA posted the highest average after four rounds (18.0), however,... (more)
