News Article Did you know that weather interfered in Florida and in the United Kingdom?
posted: Jun 9th, 2012 Today's weather map of Florida does not look too pretty. That's bad luck for the teams of the Florida Skydiving League who were supposed to get in the air for their second meet this year. It's even more bad luck since the current momentum, caused by the monthly FSL Tunnel Kickers at iFLY Orlando is showing some outdoor results, as well. The NSL News reported on 7 June 2012 that the FSL teams and competitors were preparing for this weekend's event. Several teams were ready to post scores and increase the participation of the past years at a June meet significantly. It does not look much better... (more)
News Article Did you know that twelve teams launched the 2012 outdoor season in the United Kingdom?
posted: May 12th, 2012 The first scores of the weekend are posted, and they come from the United Kingdom where twelve 4way teams opened the 2012 outdoor season in Peterlee. Kryos was the only team in the AAA Class competition and started the 2012 outdoor season almost on the same scoring level as last year. There was a significant difference though, as Kryos has stepped up from the AA Class and is dealing with the IPC Open Class dive pool now. Kryos competed in the AAA Class for the first time at the World Challenge 2012 where five of the ten rounds had slot switchers, either in the front or in the rear piece.... (more)
News Article Did you know that the British weather struck the latest UKSL meet once again?
posted: Jul 18th, 2011 NSL News correspondent in Great Britain and Kaizen member Jo Hawley reports on last weekend’s third meet of the United Kingdom Skydiving League (UKSL) and looks ahead to the World Cup 2011 and the UK Nationals 2011. With only four weeks to go till the UK Nationals 2011, the Hibaldstow UKSL meet saw a record 32 teams take part in a wet and windy competition. Planes circled looking for holes in the clouds while competitors tried to hold their nerve. Although only three rounds were completed due to the poor weather, it has given a useful insight into what might be to come at the national championships. UKSL... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Satori Academy is coaching six farm teams?
posted: Jun 25th, 2011 The NSL News recently reported how former Satori member Katie Woods had a busy weekend in DeLand. She is also traveling back and forth between Florida and Europe for her coaching jobs. In the meantime, her former team Satori, UK 4-way champion of the past years, has moved on. Satori with the new lineup competed at the World Challenge 2011. UK's national team did not attend the first two 2011 meets of the United Kingdom Skydiving League. However, Center Outside Julia Foxwell helped the other teams with engineering and coaching. Satori also has another personnel change. Dave Head is now on... (more)
News Article Did you know that Eclipse is the most improved UK team after last weekend?
posted: Jun 16th, 2011 The new meet weekend is around the corner, including the major event in the Netherlands, the annual Tomscat Trophy. The NSL News has one more topic to wrap up last weekend's events before new scores will be posted in a few days. The story on 14 June 2011 announed the SDC Furies XP as the TEAM of the WEEKEND "even though the teams from the United Kingdom and Sweden have their own progression, as well, and some of the UK teams did really well compared to their previous results. The NSL News will take a closer look at those teams and the results later on". It is not really possible to compare... (more)
News Article Did you know that local UK teams did well at Langar last weekend?
posted: Jun 13th, 2011 Last weekend saw 21 teams compete across the four categories at the June Meet of the United Kingdom Skydiving League (UKSL) in Langar. Many of the teams are already familiar to the NSL News audience after having competed at previous UKSL competitions. However, a number of local teams also joined in the competition and did rather well with a total of 4/10 podium places going to Langar based teams. Teams began to arrive Friday night to get registered, erect tents and, in some cases, borrow suitable jumping footwear from other teams having forgotten to bring their own... Competitors were greeted... (more)
