Did you know that Final Four witnessed the Discovery shuttle launch in freefall? posted: Feb 25th, 2011 The German 4-way team Final Four is in DeLand for a week of winter training with coach Solly "The Schleifer" Williams. The training on Thursday happened to be over before space shuttle Discovery was launched for its last flight. Final Four decided to make another jump at the end of the day to watch the shuttle launch in freefall.
On the same day, World Team leader BJ Worth came to DeLand to prepare for the 3-day weekend of 60-ways, which is a part of his plan for the new 500-way world record attempt. He traveled to Cape Canaveral on Thursday and filmed the shuttle launch live from close range.

Did you know that the draw of the sequences will be done publicly? posted: Feb 23rd, 2011 The NSL News reported the changes of the dive pool on 29 January 2011 and followed up with a few stories related to the new Block 13 (Offset - Spinner) and the modified Block 1 (Snowflake - Snowflake).
The same story broke the news that Skydive Dubai will host the World Championship of Formation Skydiving in 2012 and that the event will be a part of a new Mondial, which features all skydiving disciplines at the same time and at the same place.

Did you know that Skydive University organized a successful 1-day camp last weekend in DeLand? posted: Feb 18th, 2011 This year's activities in Florida to grow the Formation Skydiving community and introduce more skydivers to the 4-way fun had another event last weekend in DeLand, while SDC Rhythm XP members worked with the Team For A Day participants in Sebastian.
Rob Laidlaw's Skydive University organized a player coach event, which was based on the same player coaching concept that Rhythm applies in Florida, in the Paraclete XP windtunnel and at their summer home Skydive Chicago, as Arizona Frenzy offers it in Eloy and as Perris Fury has done if for years in Perris.

Did you know that Arizona Airspeed may ask "Who's Next"? posted: Feb 17th, 2011 The situation between the French national team Aerodyne Maubeuge and Arizona Airspeed after the Valentine's Meet 2011 has been discussed extensively, and the scores and videos will be subject to more thoughts, comments and evaluations in the skydiving community for a while.
There are still many open questions at the beginning of the 2011 season, and many of those are related to the third expected top contender in the 4-way competition world, the Belgian national 4-way team NMP-PCH Hayabusa.

Did you know that CamScore has updated the dive pool program? posted: Feb 15th, 2011 The competition draw for the Valentine's Meet 2011 was posted timely on Friday evening at the Skyleague.com front page, including the links to the usual printout options. The numbers and letters for blocks and random formations were accurate, and the printouts for the competition draw were still not correct.
The changes of the dive pool that the NSL News published and commented with the stories on 29 January 2011 and 1 February 2011 had not made it into the CamScore system before the NSL News traveled to Eloy last weekend.

Did you know that ISB Air is on the way to Raeford? posted: Feb 3rd, 2011 The NSL News mentioned earlier that the German national 4-way team ISB Air currently trains in DeLand. It was a good opportunity to meet the new lineup, and the team accepted the invitation for a live NSL Talk.
Goal was to include videos of the training camp, especially of the new blocks that the NSL News has recently introduced. ISB Air was still experimenting with the technique for the new Block 13 when the training was interrupted by inclement weather.
