The ISC Formation Skydiving Committee meetings at the 75th Plenary Meeting in Rome (Italy) will begin tomorrow, on January 28th, and conclude on February 2nd.

Did you know that the race for the 2nd place seems to be the highlight at the Wind Games? posted: Jan 26th, 2025 The last two NSL News updates of the situation of the Qatar delegation in formation skydiving competition and the Panthers upgrade to AAA Class competition included the first NSL Power Rankings of the upcoming Wind Games 2025 in Empuriabrava, Spain.
Eight of last year's 24 teams return to the same place, nine different teams have signed up for the event next week. Qatar's Lions and Cheetahs will be back with coaches Gary Smith and Luc Verstrepen, while the Tigers have to replace one of the reigning FAI bronze medalists and plan to compete only at military CISM world championships this year.... Did you know that French and Czech juniors will probably catch attention next week? posted: Jan 24th, 2025 Yesterday's NSL Live Talk conversation with Gary Smith included a preview of the upcoming Wind Games in Spain and the first NSL Power Rankings. Solly Williams mentioned a day earlier that Arizona Airspeed will not attend the competition due to reasons of eligibility for new team member Alisson de Vargas.
Two other U.S. teams will compete in Empuriabrava and are expected to finish on the top of the leaderboard behind the world's arguably new 4-way leader, Aethers Medjay from France. Did you know that Gary Smith explained changes for Qatar Tigers, Lions and Cheetahs? posted: Jan 24th, 2025 Gary Smith and Solly Williams are two of the most experienced participants in formation skydiving competition, first as world champion competitors, followed by successful coaching careers.
Both are still very active in the sport as coaches, while they also still jump from planes or fly in wind tunnel chambers if it becomes necessary. Together they invented the modern style of 4-way performance with the famous mantis position, which they applied when they trained and competed together with South Africa's national 4-way team almost 30 years ago.

Did you know that Solly Williams covered Airbus, Airspeed and Dive Pool? posted: Jan 22nd, 2025 The NSL News reported on January 4th that the German national team in 4-way Open, Airbus Illertissen, continue with a new lineup. The update included NSL Live Talk with team member Thomas Mack, his son Tim Mack, who competed with Teiwaz at the German Outdoor Nationals 2024, and coach Solly Williams.
The follow-up story on January 16th introduced the new Airbus lineup with more details of the new team members, Claire Rebhahn and Tim Mack, who will work together with his father in the front piece. Claire Rebhahn will take the tail position.

Did you know that the Czech teams had opponents from Florida? posted: Jan 21st, 2025 The AAA Class competition of the Czech Open Indoor Championship 2025 last weekend caught naturally a lot of attention, as the Czech Republic has consistently risen to become one of the 4-way powerhouses in the world's formation skydiving competition, as an event host as much as in the athletic field.
Jan Klapka's 4-way junior school has generated indoor world champions in 4-way Women and 4-way Junior, and the Skywalkers Junior team are on their way to challenge teams in 4-way Open Class medal positions indoors and outdoors in the near future.
