News Article Did you know that the Perris Fury project has been extremely successful?
posted: Sep 11th, 2007 It was a rainy Monday night in Ottawa, Illinois, and that was a good thing. The rain front went through at the right time, and the skies cleared up quickly on Tuesday morning. The 8-way competition of the USPA Nationals 2007 is in full swing. The NSL News goes back to the 4-way competition with a few new videos of Perris Fury. The Formation Skydiving delegation from Perris was of an impressive size. Dan BC said that eight 4-way teams and four 8-way teams traveled from California to Illinois. Most of the teams are a part of the Perris Fury project. (more)
News Article Did you know that "pick-up teams" are on the top of the 8-way leaderboard?
posted: Sep 10th, 2007 The 8-way competition of the USPA Nationals 2007 is already in full swing. Round 3 is in progress, and the two "pick-up teams" on the top of the leaderboard are posting world-class scores on a 20-point average level. Two other "pick-up teams" are not too far behind the top scorers. It sounds funny, but the these four teams have in fact hardly any training jumps together - at least not recently. Arizona Airspeed's line-up consists of the four Odyssey members, plus Jack Jefferies, Dennis Rook, Brian Johnson and Dan BC. Will Pesek is filming the team. Jack Jefferies is hardly skydiving at all,... (more)
News Article Did you know that NSL-TV features an Airspeed Odyssey celebration of Round 10?
posted: Sep 10th, 2007 The NSL News gave Airspeed Odyssey's Grande Finale, Round 10 of the USPA Nationals 2007, some special attention. The celebration of the team's amazing performance right after the landing was not as it is usually at the major events. The crowd waited until the award ceremony on Sunday evening to give Airspeed Odyssey the deserved respect. However, the NSL News followed the team from the final preparations for the last jump to the landings, and NSL-TV added the video of the 27-pointer to the story-line. The video of Airspeed's whole Round 10 package can be viewed by clicking here. Andy Delk,... (more)
News Article Did you know that there was drama in the finish of the AA/Intermediate Class competition?
posted: Sep 10th, 2007 It is a very unfortunate situation if a team ends up in 3rd place with a 23.0 average. The Golden Knights were in that situation at the end of the 4-way competition at the USPA Nationals 2007. The great performance of the Golden Knights was not good enough to win this year's championship, and the reason was that Airspeed Odyssey has increased the 4-way standards to a new performance level. It is fair to say that Odyssey's scoring average is now at a 25.0 average level (22.2 - 23.0 - 26.0 - 23.5 - 25.3) after the five skydiving competitions of the 2007 season, not considering the 28.0 average... News Article Did you know that there is a furious battle for medals in the AA/Intermediate Class?
posted: Sep 9th, 2007 The first Airspeed video has been uploaded. It brings back the last round on Saturday, Round 7 of the USPA Nationals 2007. NSL-TV will process and upload the other videos later. Rounds 8 and 9 have been completed in the meantime, and Airspeed Odyssey is still controlling the AAA/Open Class field as yesterday. Team Fastrax Red stole a highscore for a round and beat the leader by one point in Round 8. It didn't bother Odyssey much, and they came back with the next sole highscore in Round 9. (more)
News Article Did you know that the Golden Knights did not find their mojo?
posted: Sep 9th, 2007 Back to the place where the weather is so good that the Meet Director has to slow down the operation of the USPA Nationals 2007. The judges were not able yesterday to keep up with the pace of the competition at Skydive Chicago. Eric Deren told the NSL News this morning that he plans to slow dwon the pace of the operation, so the judges can keep up and the teams will know their scores and the standings before they board the planes for the next round.
