Did you know that Fastrax Blue lost Kelley Frederickson?
posted: May 21st, 2008 Sad news came from California yesterday. Kelley Frederickson, Point for Fastrax Blue, the US national team in the female 4-way category, passed away on May 20. She died in her sleep at night in the middle of a training camp in Perris. Fastrax Blue sponsor John Hart sent his very personal tribute to her in the latest Start Skydiving newsletter. He had recently put together a profile of the Fastrax member. Kelley Frederickson and her team had just visited DeLand for a training camp and the FSL April meet. Did you know that Skydive Sebastian had a very successful FSL comeback?
posted: May 20th, 2008 The May meet of the Florida Skydiving League 2008 season was a comeback event for Skydive Sebastian. The host of many FSL meets was one of the original skydiving centers when the Florida Skydiving League was launched at the end of 1997. Sebastian XL, the British national team, was the most famous home team at that time. Skydive Sebastian also hosted the USPA Nationals in 1999 and sent the original Teiwaz lineup to the USPA Nationals 2000 in Perris to win the gold medals in the Advanced Class. Did you know that the MASL teams and competitors are still waiting for better weather?
posted: May 19th, 2008 Last weekend's leaderboard also includes two teams from the MidAtlantic Skydiving League. League Director Cherie Schuch reported that the weather made it very difficult for the teams at Cross Keys so far this year. The meet was first canceled due to the bad forecast, but only until it looked more promising Saturday morning: "We have not been having a lot of luck with the weather up here. No big surprise that we had to cancel the meet on Friday night. However, at 6 am next morning we put it back on again." posted: May 19th, 2008 Earlier NSL News articles mentioned an upswing in 4-way participation this year so far. Last weekend's numbers confirm this upswing once again. Florida Skydiving League teams in Sebastian moved the attendance number at a May meet up from three (2006) and four (2007) to eight last weekend. The situation was the same in the United Kingdom. Seven teams competed at the May meet in 2007, seventeen at the June meet last year. Last weekend's event in Langar had a total number 22 teams competing in the four competition classes. posted: May 17th, 2008 The Florida Skydiving League is already a part of this weekend's new 4-way action, while the meet videos of the FSL April meet were not all uploaded until yesterday. The special NSL-TV page of the April meet now has links to all videos, including the additional rounds by some of the national teams in DeLand. (more)

Did you know that the Paraclete XP Money Meet has an international field this year?
posted: May 16th, 2008 The 2008 season is almost a copy of the 2007 season for the NSL News so far, including the Airspeed meet odyssey of both years. FSL Shamrock Showdown 2008 - World Challenge 2008 - Paraclete XP Money Meet 2008, the first three major events of the NSL News 2008 tour are the same stops as in 2007. There is a difference compared to the first months of the 2007 season: the participation has been growing. The NSL News story on 9 April 2008 had provided more details of the great news.
