Did you know that the Ranch started with a new attendance record? posted: May 29th, 2008 The expectations of the Ranch Skydiving League's new director, Ranch Fallout member Bob Schuyler, were fully met at last weekend's season opener in Gardiner. Seven teams attended the first RSL competition of the 2008 season. Five teams was the highest number of teams at a meet in 2007, and the new record attendance came already at the very beginning of this season.
In fact, it happened only once since 2003, in August 2006, that seven 4-way teams competed at a Ranch Skydiving League competition. RSL Director Bob Schuyler was happy with the turnout, even though the expected Rookie Class teams... (more)
Did you know that Dr. Joel Shugar died on Monday in a skydiving accident? posted: May 28th, 2008 Very sad news arrived from Arizona on Tuesday. Dr. Joel Shugar, one of the most passionate 4-way competitors and a true supporter of the sport, died in a skydiving accident in Eloy on May 26, 2008.
It would fill books to cover his merits in his professional career as an eye surgeon and for skydiving as a sport. The NSL News has covered his skydiving activities with Optic Nerve many times, and also his professional work as an eye surgeon with many top competitors.

Did you know that the first round of FSL-TV is now available? posted: May 27th, 2008 The completion of last weekend's leaderboard with a total of 30 teams came along with the first meet videos of the previous weekend of May 17. A total of 37 teams competed by then, including eight teams of the Florida Skydiving League at Skydive Sebastian.
AAA Class team Sebastian Tempest was already introduced by the NSL News on 28 January 2008, and a few brief updates followed here and there. The FSL May meet was the first time that the new team competed on its home turf.
The 15.3 average after the six rounds in Sebastian is lower than the 16.9 average at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2008.... (more)
Did you know that the Blues and the Whites are getting closer to their showdown? posted: May 27th, 2008 The NSL News story on 4 May 2008 covered the current international situation in the female 4-way category. The article mentioned the two French teams, Deep Blue and White and See, who still have to qualify as the national team for France in 2008.
National coach Jérôme David, who is responsible for the management of the whole French Formation Skydiving delegation, recently provided an update with details of the very special situation in the female 4-way event.

Did you know that the Czech Republic prepares for the FAI World Cup 2009? posted: May 26th, 2008 The Czech Republic and Italy have already posted the scores of their meets last weekend. Both events had almost perfect conditions, and all teams completed the scheduled six rounds.
Several teams of the Czech Republic had already competed at the indoor championship on April 19. Last weekend's competition was the first outdoor event of the 2008 season.
The Czech teams had the opportunity to test the new A Class dive pool, which was introduced by league manager Jan Klapka this year. Last year's Rookie Class teams were eager to make the next step up, and they took full advantage of the new class... (more)
Did you know that Arcteryx left Florida after a live update with the NSL News? posted: May 23rd, 2008 Norway's national 4-way team Arcteryx has been covered by the NSL News many times and comprehensively. The new lineup of 2008, with Center Inside Mathias Nord, gave more than enough reason to watch the progression of the Norwegian team even closer.
