News Article Did you know that Belgium gave up a point after missing the plane?
posted: Aug 9th, 2006 An early start on Wednesday morning helped to complete the 3rd round in 8-way and to get quite far in the 4-way Open Class competition, as well. Unfortunately, the meet was on a weather hold once again at 9:00 am. The teams are on a stand-by status and might be called to the planes at any time. (more)
News Article Did you know that DeLand Fire took the lead in round two?
posted: Aug 8th, 2006 Italy's 8-way team Ex3mo caught up with the German team FSC Remscheid after an excellent performance in round two. The Germans had a good jump jump and scored only one point below the current German 8-way highscore. However, it was not good enough to keep up with the outstanding Italian performance in this round, and the game is tied. (more)
News Article Did you know that Perris Airkix catches up?
posted: Aug 8th, 2006 The weather in Gera has not improved much yet. It is slowly getting to the point where a closer look at the rule book might be helpful for the teams. There is no minimum number of rounds any longer to determine the winners. One complete round would be enough to declare a new world champion. The minimum number of three rounds was removed from the rule book years ago. Round one of the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2006 could theoretically become the most important round for the teams on the competition site in Germany. Russia would have the 4-way Open Class champion, France the... (more)
News Article Did you know that the scoresheets offer interesting additional information?
posted: Aug 8th, 2006 The current weather hold at the FAI World Meet 2006 in Germany allows the NSL News to catch up with yesterday's events. The first round of the 4-way competition was completed in both events, and two teams of the female category already did their second jump. France and Great Britain's team Airkix compete in their own league, which is at least the impression after round one. The Russian Ladybirds still got a 12-pointer on the scoreboard after the big mistake in the meet opener, which tied the score for the 3rd place. Round two will probably show whether the Russian team will have to fight for... (more)
News Article Did you know that Carolina Skydiving League competitors deployed for service duty?
posted: Aug 8th, 2006 The FAI World Meet 2006 is once again on a weather hold. The NSL News uses the break for an update with scores and a meet story of the last Carolina Skydiving League competition. The 4th CASL meet of 2006 was held at Raeford Aviation on Saturday, July 29. There were 11 teams completing, one AAA/Open Class team, six AA/Intermediate Class teams, and four Rookie Class teams. Dan Winkelstein was the meet director. Chris Talbert and Tim D'Annunzio were the judges. One of the Rookie Class teams, Luckiest Guy in Raeford, made their jumps under special circumstances. Two of the team members were... (more)
News Article Did you know that the teams are back in the air?
posted: Aug 7th, 2006 The weather has improved, and the teams are back in the air. First of all, the first round in 8-way needed to be completed. Only Arizona Airspeed and the South African 8-way team had missed round one and boarded the Twinotter for the last 8-way activity today. The 8-way teams were done for the day after round one. South Africa posted an 8-pointer and is one point ahead of Belgium in 8th place. Arizona Airspeed had a strong first page and got caught with an incomplete Frisbee at the beginning of the second page. As France did a few hours earlier, Airspeed completed 19 points in time and received... (more)
