Did you know that the CSC Sirens are two points away from the 10-point average? posted: Jun 28th, 2006 The Midwest Skydiving League completed its second meet of the 2006 season without teams from Skydive Chicago. A separate skydiving event kept especially the female competitors from attending the meet at the Chicagoland Skydiving Center. However, five teams still made it a successful competition in Hinckley with great scores.
The CSC Sirens once again improved the team's meet average in its third competition of the 2006 season. The 9.7 average also won the first place on last weekend's AA Class leaderboard. NPSL team Microburst has held the top position with a 9.0 average until the scores from... (more)
Did you know that Airkix' round four of the May meet comes along with clarifications from the judges? posted: Jun 28th, 2006 The new round of NSL-TV continues with the coverage of the May 20 weekend. Teams of the Southwest Skydiving League and the Florida Skydiving League were part of a record breaking participation with a total of 65 teams competing in the USA and in Europe at the same time.
The complete leaderboard of the May 20 competition still offers an overview of all scores, and the links to the video files can be found at the same page. Did you know that Gang Green sent the team's cheer leaders to the judging room? posted: Jun 27th, 2006 The second meet of the 2006 season was a huge success for the Northern Plains Skydiving League. The competitors were greeted with beautiful weather Saturday morning. A total of nine teams competed, and once again the teams were ready and willing to move up the start time to help get a head start on what proved to be a very busy day for the hosting dropzone.
The AAA/Open Class competition had a heated battle, with Gang Green ahead by one point going into the fifth round. Fast Forward came charging back to pick up two points in each of the last two rounds and took the first place with a total... (more)
Did you know that teams from Austria present the sequences of last weekend's round one? posted: Jun 27th, 2006 Most of last weekend's European scores were already provided by the league and meet directors on Sunday, while ESL manager Willy Boeykens had even posted results throughout the meet action on Saturday and Sunday. This time, the first meet videos are also coming from Europe.
The Austrian teams Monkey Circus and Eclipse present the sequences of last weekend's first round of the competition. Monkey Circus represented Austria in the AAA/Open FAI Class and opened the competition with a 16-pointer for Q-L-20-18. Did you know that it was Germany's turn to compete with the World Cup Soccer last weekend? posted: Jun 26th, 2006 The previous 4-way meets in Great Britain on June 10 and in the Netherlands on June 17 already had their shares of indirect competition with the FIFA World Cup Soccer. Last Saturday, it was Germany's turn to deal with the combination of skydiving and soccer.
Germany's Deutsche Sky Liga (DSL) had scheduled two events at two different locations in the north and the south of Germany, while the national soccer team played against the team from Sweden on Saturday afternoon. Did you know that Colorado Skydiving League competitors recently produced a commercial clip? posted: Jun 24th, 2006 2B Productions contacted the National Skydiving League in May looking for a few Colorado skydivers to act and jump in a promotional video being shot for RE/MAX. The National Skydiving League headquarters referred the producer to Colorado Skydiving League Director Travis Roth.
Travis Roth now reported how things moved on after the contact was made: "When the producer contacted me, she had a lot of questions. I mentioned to her that one of my 'day jobs' is designing lighting systems for productions, and as it turned out we knew a lot of the same people in our professional lives." (more)
