posted: Jan 29th, 2007 The NSL News story on January 19, 2007, provided a preview of the International Parachuting Commission's (IPC) annual meeting in Florence, Italy. The article covered the topics on the agenda of the IPC Formation Skydiving Committee, which would be relevant for this year's 4-way and 8-way competitions. The meeting was concluded last weekend, and Fiona McEachern, Australian Chair of the FS Committee, distributed the results of the meeting instantly. News Article Did you know that Norwegian Valkyrie goddesses are live on a new NSL-TV interview?
posted: Jan 26th, 2007 Norway's national 4-way team Arcteryx was not the only visitor to Florida from the same Scandinavian country last week. Norway's national 4-way team in the female category was holding a training camp in DeLand at the same time, and the NSL News invited the team to the NSL office for another live interview. Norway Valkyrie consists of Anne Simone Botten (Point), Cathrine Lie Tunes (Tail), Kristin Opoien (Center Inside), Trude Sviggum (Center Outside) and Anne Sofie Boe on camera. It is exactly the same line-up that represented Norway at the World Meet 2006 in Germany. (more)
News Article Did you know that the Southwest Skydiving League splits into California and Arizona?
posted: Jan 25th, 2007 The Southwest Skydiving League has finalized its schedule for the 2007 season. Actually, the new schedule includes only the events at the two major hosts in California, Skydive Elsinore and Perris Valley Skydiving. The Southwest Skydiving League will be split up and turn into one league in California and the other one in Arizona. The travel distance between California (Perris/Elsinore) and Arizona (Eloy) is significantly longer compared to other leagues in the country and has been in the way for the SSL teams. News Article Did you know that DC3 completed the team's first 10-round meet at SkyQuest 2006?
posted: Jan 24th, 2007 Round 4 of the NSL Championship 2006 has now been added to the NSL-TV page. The videos of all competition jumps that have been posted so far can be viewed at the 4-way page of the SkyQuest website. The AAA Class competition between Optic Nerve, Teiwaz Lake Wales and Italy's Fast + Furious continued in a very similar way compared to the earlier rounds. Teiwaz had recovered from the exit troubles in Round 3 and tied Optic Nerve's 16-pointer. However, Dr. Shugar's team was now five points ahead and maintained the lead. (more)
News Article Did you know that a Norwegian world class Freeflyer is the new Arcteryx Point?
posted: Jan 23rd, 2007 The NSL News published the last update from Norway on September 2, 2006. It covered last year's national championship and wrapped up the 2006 skydiving season for the Scandinavian country, which has produced world class 4-way teams and competitors for decades. The name of the current Norwegian national 4-way team, Arcteryx, is not new to the NSL News audience. The performance and progress of the team was covered on a regular basis ever since the new line-up was put together at the end of the 2003 season. posted: Jan 19th, 2007 The NSL News story on January 15 covered the Formation Skydiving Committee's agenda at the upcoming meeting of the International Parachuting Commission (IPC) in Florence, Italy. The topics don't indicate the discussion of any complicated issues. However, there was one topic that caused a lot of trouble at last year's World Meet 2006 in Germany.
