News Article Did you know that Team Fila and Monkey Circus battled it out in Austria?
posted: Aug 17th, 2005 The NSL News has reported an annual 3-way race for the national championship of Austria for several years. Three teams are usually prepared to charge for the national gold medals in the beautiful European country in the Alpes, home of the musical "The Sound of Music": Team Fila, Monkey Circus and Matrix. These three teams have battled meet by meet ever since Austria joined the European Skydiving League in 2003. News Article Did you know that Rusty Lewis and Axel Zohmann provided additional SkyVenture Arizona experiences?
posted: Aug 16th, 2005 The NSL News completes the coverage of the recent trip to SkyVenture Arizona with another interview. SkyVenture Arizona's General Manager, Axel Zohmann, and 4-way competitor Rusty Lewis took the time to answer NSL News questions in Eloy. Axel Zohmann is also the videographer for his wife, the freestyle world champion Yoko Okazaki. Rusty Lewis is officially a certified full time Trainer for the International Body Flight Association (IBA), the new company that trains tunnel instructors for SkyVenture and for wind tunnels in general. posted: Aug 16th, 2005 The NSL Playoffs are the official qualification event to the NSL Championship. The National Skydiving League structured its skydiving competition season into different levels from the very beginning and simply copied the successful system of other sports leagues. The first NSL season in 1998 consisted only of the regular season of the first three leagues (Texas, Georgia, Florida) and the NSL Championship 1998 in DeLand. More leagues joined in 1999, and the first move toward the NSL structure of the future was already made at the NSL Championship 1999. (more)
News Article Did you know that DeLand Fire scored 21.2 at an exciting competition in Germany?
posted: Aug 14th, 2005 Most of the DeLand Fire members have not even made it back from Europe yet after winning the Malevsky Cup 2005 in Russia at the beginning of July. There were work and coaching commitments, Gary Smith even joined the original DeLand Majik line-up for the 4-way competition at the World Games. DeLand Fire also made a few training jumps in Europe and recently competed as a guest team at the German national championship of 2005. News Article Did you know that Airspeed added SkyVenture Arizona tunnel time to the remaining training schedule?
posted: Aug 12th, 2005 The second part of the NSL News visit at SkyVenture Arizona brings the interview with three Airspeed Velocity members, Neal Houston, Andy Honigbaum and Dennis Rook. They took the time to meet with the NSL News in the morning, fly in the tunnel with Pete Allum as the fourth member and demonstrate how to train the whole dive pool in the new SkyVenture tunnel. They also took the time after the flying session to provide additional information in an interview with the NSL News. News Article Did you know that Black Cat and Lady Birds won in Russia?
posted: Aug 12th, 2005 The NSL News received scores from Russia. The national championship in 4-way has been completed last weekend, and the former Sky Panthers, newly named Black Cat, is the old and new Russian 4-way champion in 4-way. The 8-way competition was still on the way when Fyodor Mozgovoy, Malevsky Cup organizer and Lady Birds videographer, kindly provided the information.
