posted: Aug 24th, 2005 The NSL News story on July 20 had already covered the summer situation in Florida for the July meet. It was not much different in August. Three teams made their way to the Florida Skydiving Center in Lake Wales to compete at the 6th FSL meet of the 2005 season, which served as the FSL event of the NSL Playoffs 2005 at the same time. USPA national judge and regional USPA Director Richard Schachner used the last opportunity for some judging training before the USPA Nationals 2005. posted: Aug 24th, 2005 A lousy weather forecast held down attendance, and a stubborn layer of low clouds delayed the start of our fourth meet of the 2005 season last Saturday at Skydive Chicago. However, no one could have foreseen just how much the action would heat up once the meet finally got rolling. In addition to the "meet within a meet" already in place due to MWSL Meet 4 doubling as the first six rounds of the NSL Playoffs 2005, thanks to Rebeca Perren at Performance Designs, the Midwest Skydiving League was also able to hold a "PD Challenge" where each team competed against its own score from the previous... News Article Did you know that Carolina Ice and Raeford SkyCatz will represent the Carolina Skydiving League?
posted: Aug 23rd, 2005 Carolina Ice and Raeford SkyCatz are the lucky winners of the Paraclete sponsorship in the Carolina Skydiving League. Both teams can begin making travel arrangements to the USPA Nationals (Carolina Ice) and the NSL Championship (Raeford SkyCatz). They will represent the Carolina Skydiving League at these two events. Carolina Ice is the defending NSL Champion in the AA Class after winning the NSL Championship of the AA Class at SkyQuest 2004. However, Ice has not won a USPA medal yet after a disqualification last year. This year's USPA Championship in Perris will be the opportunity for Ice's... (more)
News Article Did you know that MidAtlantic Skydiving League teams appreciate John Eddowes' support?
posted: Aug 22nd, 2005 The scores of last weekend's meets and the NSL Playoffs 2005 have begun to arrive at the NSL headquarters, and the first results have been posted. The UK Armed Forces Championships at Netheravon participated inofficially by using the same competition draw. The field of teams in the UK includes the all-female team Airkix, which recently made the NSL News after attending a competition of the Southwest Skydiving League and the UK Nationals 2005. News Article Did you know that DeLand Fire videos show slates on fire in Germany?
posted: Aug 19th, 2005 DeLand Fire recently competed at the German national championships. The NSL News reported scores and the meet story on August 14. Thomas Hughes, usually Fire's videographer and alternate, took the tail slot for Ian Bobo at the meet in Germany and kindly provided the NSL News with meet videos after returning to Florida. (more)
News Article Did you know that new results of the NSL SkyVenture Orlando Competition are posted?
posted: Aug 18th, 2005 The NSL News slowly catches up with the results of the NSL SkyVenture Orlando Competition. The results of the May 21 weekend are still missing, however, the scores of all other meet weekends until July 16 have now been calculated. The July 9 weekend was not very difficult for the calculator. Only the AA Class teams of the Colorado Skydiving League competed that weekend. The CSL highscorer, Air Force LOC, went into the meet with the benchmark handicap of 1.00 and also finished the competition with the highest raw average of 9.7 after six rounds.
