News Article Did you know that the NSL News interviewed Sally Hathaway before the last round of the meet?
posted: Sep 23rd, 2004 The teams are still on a weather hold at 2:00 p.m. in Croatia. The NSL News used the opportunity for an interview with Synchronicity's point, Sally Hathaway, who has been a member of the female US 4-way teams since 2001. Synchronicity is the leader of the competition after nine rounds. NSL News: Sally, you are very close to your second gold medal. Can anybody still catch Synchronicity? Sally Hathaway: Sure, the French girls. They are only three points behind. They are skydiving very well. NSL News: The US team looks strong and confident. Is it realistically possible for them to catch up,... (more)
News Article Did you know that there have been several smaller battles within the meet?
posted: Sep 23rd, 2004 The event management moved very quickly when the weather allowed jumping for a short time in the later afternoon on Wednesday. The 4-way Open Class teams had to wait for a while before the first call to the plane came. Round eight would be an important round not only for the medal contenders. Only the best ten teams of the 21-team field would make the cut and move on into the quarterfinals of round nine. On the other hand, the competition for the last cut position in 10th place was not really close. Teams had already settled in their slots throughout the earlier rounds. Spain's team Empuriabrava... posted: Sep 22nd, 2004 Wednesday still turned out to be a quite busy day. The 8-way event has caught up and completed eight rounds, while the 4-way Women's event has only one more round to go. The 8-way competition continues to be very close between the three top teams from the USA, France and Russia. None of the teams is able to pull away from the rivals. The highest scores for the rounds are evenly devided between all three teams. However, Arizona Airspeed had managed to win round three more... (more)

posted: Sep 22nd, 2004 The whole competition in Croatia is on a weather hold Wednesday morning, teams are on a stand-by status. The original plan for today was the conclusion of the world meet in all events. This will not happen. The local forecast seems to offer a chance for some jumping later on. However, there is no chance to complete the remaining rounds today any longer. Locals are also afraid that the famous wind, the "Bora", will blow hard to push the front through. Teams and competitors experienced this weather situation already right before the start of the competition last week. The host keeps teams and competitors... (more)
News Article Did you know that the USA, France and Russia currently win all medals in the same order?
posted: Sep 21st, 2004 The ten teams of the 4-way Women's class have completed six more rounds since the last event update was posted. It has been difficult to keep up with each event, especially since 8-way and 4-way Women have been run parallel with each other. For most of the time, there were even 8-way teams and 4-way teams of the Women's class in the same load. The MI-8 helicopter can transport five 4-way teams or two 8-way teams, plus one 4-way team. The meet director decided to use the available space during the 8-way competition by sending one 4-way Women's team with each 8-way load. USA Synchronicity is still... (more)

posted: Sep 21st, 2004 Block 12 kept the NSL News busy for a little while. However, all involved parties cooperated and made it as easy as possible to put the whole picture together. There might be additional feedback coming after the conclusion of the whole competition in Croatia. Both Ted Wagner and Klaus Wellens mentioned that they would like to provide some more insights later on. The competition was surely continued in the meantime, and the NSL audience had the chance to be up-to-date. The scores were added consistently, and new NSL-TV has been uploaded. Several video files can be found on the NSL-TV page. The... (more)
