Did you know that NSL Gloves fly for the World Team in Thailand? posted: Feb 4th, 2006 The World Team is currently in Thailand trying to bring the world record for the largest formation up to the numnber of 400. Former 8-way world champion and IPC President BJ Worth has been organizing and leading the World Team for many years. He has also organized the Kaleidoscope Dives of SkyQuest since the inauguration of the event in 2001. His master spotting expert, Roger Ponce de Leon, is also working on getting everybody back to the landing area in Thailand. SkyQuest's Team Elite organizer Lou Tommaso is a First Officer of the World Team.

Did you know that Block 19 requires a backward rotation for the rear piece? posted: Feb 3rd, 2006 The full NSL-TV coverage of the NSL Championship 2005 is almost complete. Round nine has now been edited and uploaded, round ten will follow next week. The timing seems to work out very well since the first footage of the 2006 season will hopefully be available at the SSL Valentine's Meet 2006 in two weeks at Skydive Arizona.
Round nine of the NSL Championship at SkyQuest 2005 was another slow sequence for the AAA/Open Class teams. The 3-block sequence began with the challenging Block 1 (Snowflake - Offset) on the hill and included the fast Block 17 (Danish T - Murphy) at the end. (more)
Did you know that Perris Fury completed the line-up for a busy 2006 season? posted: Feb 2nd, 2006 The NSL News reported on September 17, 2005, (did you know) "...that Perris Fury is looking for a future world champion?" The team from Perris Valley Skydiving began early last year to look for a committed player to replace the player coaches Dan BC and Mark Kirkby in the inside center position.
Team speaker Christy Frikken explained by then that Perris Fury had big plans for the 2006 season and the near future: "In 2006 we want to take it to the next level. Did you know that the $100 rejudgment option was eliminated last week in Stockholm? posted: Jan 31st, 2006 The International Parachuting Commission (IPC) held its annual meeting last week in Stockholm, Sweden's capital on the shores of the Baltic Sea in Scandinavia. The IPC delegates from 47 countries had to prepare for anything but skydiving since the winter in Sweden can be very cold.
Italy's IPC Delegate Sara Sacchet provided the NSL News with an update after returning from the meeting. She confirmed that there are no changes of the dive pool for the 2006 season at all. The meeting decided over some minor changes of other rules, which included the elimination of the $100 re-judging option.

Did you know that Air Force Prodigy won the 4-way battle and USMA coach Eric Heinsheimer the war? posted: Jan 30th, 2006 The Florida Skydiving Center in Lake Wales once again hosted the USPA Collegiates 2005 on December 27-31, 2005. A total of nine universities and over 100 competitors participated this time. The event consists of 4-way and 2-way Formation Skydiving, Freefly, Classic Accuracy, Sport Accuracy, Style and Team Accuracy. Eleven teams competed in the 4-way event.
The dive pool of USPA's Collegiates is identical with the A Class dive pool of the National Skydiving League and includes all Random Formations, plus eight selected blocks (2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 19, 21). The November event in Lakes was scheduled... (more)
Did you know that the NSL News received updates from the United Kingdom? posted: Jan 25th, 2006 There were times when team news from the United Kingdom made the NSL News on a regular basis. It was the aera of Sebastian XL, the British national team for many years, that fought tough battles with Norway for bronze medals at the international top events. It was also the time when V-Max made it to the top of the world in the Women's 4-way competition.
The last XL line-up with Pete Allum, Thomas Hughes, Steve Hamilton, John McIver and Rob Stevenson on camera discontinued after the 4th place at the Mondial 2003 in Gap, France, and the team members went different ways. The NSL News audience knows... (more)
