News Article Did you know that the New England Skydiving League has posted rules and basic information for the inaugural 2000 season?
posted: Mar 5th, 2000 The first set of NESL rules are following the basic outline of the National Skydiving League. They are specified according to the regional needs of the new league. The Pepperell Skydive Center and Skydive New England are the first hosts for two meets each. The dates are posted at the New England Skydiving League home page on Skyleague.com and the NSL Calendar 2000. News Article Did you know that the New England Skydiving League is expecting a a very exciting inaugural 2000 season?
posted: Feb 12th, 2000 The new NESL Director Beth Murray has put together all the pieces in the beautiful New England area. Skydive New England and Pepperell Skydive Center are the first two hosts with two meets each. However, the new league is still open for other interested hosts, as well. Skydive New England is expecting four teams to participate in the league meets. Pepperell already has two teams committed for the first season. News Article Did you know that New England 4-way teams are preparing for the first season of the New England Skydiving League?
posted: Jan 14th, 2000 Paula Philbrook at Skydive Pepperell had been observing the activities of the National Skydiving League already from its very beginnings. Recently, the local interest in joining the rapidly growing National Skydiving League has become strong enough to initiate the beginning of the league this year. Paula Philbrook is convinced that only Skydive Pepperell alone can already produce a few teams with the motivation to learn about 4-way competition. News Article Did you know that the Great Lakes Skydiving League starts in 2000?
posted: Oct 10th, 1999 The Great Lakes Skydiving League is preparing its inaugural season. The GLSL will run four meets in the 2000 season. The date for the first meet has been set for June 23-25, 2000. League sponsor Aerohio will host this meet. Other skydiving centers in the area are still welcome to join the league. Mark Belmont is the league's director. Sherry Butcher of Aerohio is supporting Belmont's efforts. He has already worked on putting things together for a while. The plan for the first meet at Aerohio is including a six-day skills camp with Arizona Airspeed on June 17-22, just prior to the competition.... (more)
News Article Did you know that Florida teams dominated Intermediate and Advanced at USPA Nationals between 1998 and 2000?
posted: Dec 19th, 1998 The NSL News mentioned in the first article of the new series of USPA Advanced Class champions that ZSpot from Skydive City won the first USPA Advanced Class medals, even though the 4-way category was not the same in 1998 as it is today. It was much more similar to the current Intermediate Class. ZSpot moved up into the new Advanced Class of 1999, which was permitted by USPA, as dive pool and rules changed significantly. ZSpot were eventually not far from winning two sets of USPA consecutively after the 3rd place in 1999. Only five points separated the team from the new Advanced Class gold medals... (more)
News Article Did you know that we can forget quite easily some of the major purposes of our sport?
posted: Dec 11th, 1998 The recent August meet of the Midwest Skydiving League brought back thoughts of the very beginnings of the National Skydiving League in this area of the United States. Florida, Texas and Georgia had joined forces with their 4-way leagues in 1998, and their league champions (Genesis/PD Blue, Convergence, Mr. Pink) competed for the first time for the NSL Championship in November 1998 at Skydive DeLand. Several new leagues grew in the winter of 1998/1999, including the Illinois Skydiving League that Andre Wiese initiated at the Chicagoland Skydiving Center in Hinckly. The name changed to Midwest...
