Did you know that the 8-way field is even after round two?
posted: Sep 7th, 2003 The competition is back to ground zero. Round two surprisingly evened the field. France, Russia and U.S.A. are all tied in first place. Russia and Airspeed both went through the whole 50 seconds as if they were the same team, synchronized until the Omniskore freeze frame. Both teams missed the second Donut for the completion of the 20th point by fractions of a second. Actually, the French 8-way team did exactly the same thing. However, they had to accept a penalty when a brainlock to the Double Spiders (M) on top of the fourth page caused this formation to be incomplete when it was keyed. (more)

Did you know that the 8-way games have begun?
posted: Sep 7th, 2003 The games have started. May the best team win. And it is time for the 8-way fans, first of all. The poll at the NSL World Meet Forum sees Arizona Airspeed as the big winner of the event, no chances for Russia or France. We will take a closer look at the 8-way situation later today. Let's first see what the first round of the meet has done to the three top teams. (more)

Did you know that Gap seems to be ready for Mondial 2003?
posted: Sep 6th, 2003 The transition of the NSL News headquarters from DeLand to Gap, France, went smoother than expected. It took a few hours and hick-ups to set up the office, but finally the NSL computer was successfully connected to the internet. NSL News reporter Kurt Gaebel was fortunate enough to run right into Omniskore Master T1 Ted Wagner after arrival and when the first technical problems occurred. Jump Shack President John Sherman also offered his technical expertise to help, while his Marketing Manager and U.S. team member Nancy La Riviere tested the "Mega Booster". (more)

Did you know that DeLand Majik's Doug Park was impressed with the Russian meet management?
posted: Aug 11th, 2003 The next NSL News interview from the archives brings back once again DeLand Majik's world champion inside center Doug Park, who won his FAI 4-way gold medal in 2004. The previous interview with him was published on June 13th, and it had taken place almost a whole year earlier. DeLand Majik had missed the qualification for the next world meet at the USPA Nationals 2002 and redeemed themselves at the FAI World Cup a month later. DeLand Majik would not compete at the FAI World Meet 2003 and traveled to Russia instead, where they won the Malevsky Memorial Cup a month before the world meet. Sinapsi... (more)

posted: May 28th, 2003 Pete Allum is one of the legends in the history of Formation Skydiving competition. He has been the role model for many competitors not only in the athletic area of the sport. It was not a big surprise that he became a very popular coach while he competed actively and until today. He has joined many NSL Live Talk conversations, the most recent one in the middle of the corona virus crisis on June 3rd. Topic were not his competitive roots with the British national 4-way team Sebastian XL. Did you know that France was aiming at two gold medals and one bronze medal in 2003?
posted: Mar 27th, 2003 The NSL News recently posted a previously unpublished interview with former French national coach Jerome David. He is well known for his coaching success at the FAI World Meet 2010 in Menzelinsk, Russia, where he won four gold medals in Formation Skydiving (4-way Open - 4-way Women - 4-way VFS - 8-way Open). His NSL Profile is showing though that he began his work as the national head-coach much earlier. He had won his own FAI medals before he was promoted to the position of the national coach in 1994.
