Did you know that the road to new FAI medals began after Round 10 at Crystal Coast? posted: Nov 4th, 2024 It had never happened in the history of Formation Skydiving competition that the three 4-way Open Class medal winners finished in the same order in consecutive outdoor world championships since 1985 - until 2016/2018. France, United States and Norway kept their hands on the FAI medals between 1999 and 2003, while the ranking order changed in the three events.
Eventually it happened in 2016 and 2018 when the national 4-way Open Class teams from Belgium, United States and France finished in exactly the same order. However, this unusual and rare continuity was over again after Australia 2018 when... (more)
Did you know that Brazil's Netunos won the first 8-way duel with Great Britain in history? posted: Nov 3rd, 2024 The most exciting part of the 8-way competition at the 26th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships was naturally GKXP8's challenge of the historic scoring numbers, which ended with a new world record 37-pointer for the longest sequence in Round 9 (3,M,N,4) and the tied 23.9 record average after all ten rounds.
The medal winning teams did not face any competition for their ranking positions on the leaderboard, as the NSL News mentioned in the 8-way update on October 31st. However, there was a serious battle going on behind the medal positions, the 8-way duel between Brazil (Netunos) and... (more)

They are no more than journalistic topics for the NSL News, even though they are quite meaningful for teams and competitors, and for the audience, as well.
The 26th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships had the potential for a new FS Sweep, as the NSL News mentioned several times during the previews of the event. The unofficial FS Sweep began as the combination of winning... (more)
Did you know that Round 10 at the German Nationals was the real challenge for Operation Adler? posted: Oct 31st, 2024 The 8-way competition for the medal positions at the 26th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships ran smoothly and peacefully. The three teams in the top positions could only try to show their best and improve their own performances and scoring levels in their respective team histories.
GKXP8 finished miles ahead of Qatar Tigers (239 - 190) after tying the highest meet average in 8-way history and posting a new world record for a single round with the 37-pointer in Round 9. Qatar Tigers copied that on their own specific team level and had a 46-point lead (190 - 143) over Germany's Operation... (more)
Did you know that only Chiara Brunetti won Italian indoor and outdoor championship titles this year? posted: Oct 30th, 2024 Italy's 4-way teams transitioned quicker than anybody else from outdoor training and competition to indoor activities. The national outdoor championship was barely completed in September when they had to get ready for the indoor championship in October.
The transition from outdoor to indoor training and competition is actually the easier one, without exits from jump planes, sub-terminal pages and landing the parachutes. The reverse transition requires more efforts and training. Five of the six Italian teams who competed at the outdoor nationals had to switch the mode as quickly as possible.
