News Article Did you know that Airdrops won the Swiss duel in Roosendaal?
posted: Dec 6th, 2024 The AAA Class competition at the ISR Grand Prix 2024 included an interesting duel between two teams from Switzerland, who would both be eligible for 4-way Women competition. Their duel took place on the traditional leaderboard, as only the Weembinamic has a format with direct confrontation between two teams and elimination of one of them. Airdrops and WingX both completed all eight rounds at the event and were separated by two points at the end of the day. The same two teams had met each other only once before, at the Swiss Indoor Nationals 2024, where Airdrops still won by nine points after... (more)
News Article Did you know that No Name qualified for Paraclete XP indoor world meet at the Weembinamic?
posted: Dec 4th, 2024 Weembi Lille has been using a different competition format when they introduced the annual Weembinamic 4-way and 8-way indoor event in December 2016. It was only an 8-way competition by then, before it was quickly extended to 4-way a year later. Julien Degen, former French 4-way and 8-way world champion, and his staff at Weembi Lille created a combination of traditional Formation Skydiving competition and an elimination format, where teams continued with duels through the next rounds and into the final battle for the official winning position. All participating teams still complete ten rounds... (more)
News Article Did you know that Garudas won the extra round in Roosendaal for a new team record average?
posted: Dec 4th, 2024 The annual ISR Grand Prix indoor competition in Roosendaal, Netherlands, took place once again last weekend. The 32 teams completed their usual eight rounds on the same day. The limited dive pool allows only the eight rounds, which favors the earlier conclusion of the competition and the smooth transition into the popular social part of the event. ISR FireFlash distanced themselves from the rest of the field, even though the Belgian team missed their inside center of the past even years, Sven Ibens. ISR FireFlash completed 22 indoor and outdoor competitions since 2017 before Sven Ibens would... (more)
News Article Did you know that Skywalkers Junior on track to senior indoor 4-way at Paraclete XP?
posted: Dec 2nd, 2024 Skywalkers Junior, Czech national indoor and outdoor 4-way champions, have begun their busy indoor winter season, and they already have two sets of 10-round scores and videos in their records. They copied their schedule of the 2023/2024 winter season this year, which began last year with the Flyspot Open 2023 in Poland, followed by the first meet of the Czech Tunnel League. The order of the same two events was reversed this year, and Skywalkers Junior launched the 2024/2025 season in their home chamber at the Hurricane Factory, then traveled to Poland for the Flyspot Open 2024. The team's progression... (more)
News Article Did you know that France won the 8-way competition at the Weembinamic 2024?
posted: Nov 30th, 2024 The NSL News update of the 4-way competition at the Weembinamic 2024 pointed out that only two British competitors, NFTO members Sian Stokes and Vana Parker, returned to Weembi Lille after winning the national indoor championship title at the same location earlier in November. There was actually one complete 8-way team, QRF XONR8, that attended both events. The team members did not have to go back to Great Britain for the two weeks between the two indoor competitions. In fact, most of the team members of the international lineup live in France or near the French border in Central Europe. The... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Qatar Falcons may aim at more than FAI silver medals?
posted: Nov 29th, 2024 There are not many indoor competition opportunities for 8-way teams, as it requires at least a 16-foot flying chamber to accommodate the size and maneuvers of 8-way teams. Weembi Lille is one of the few windtunnels in the world with a flying chamber that is large enough and that offers 8-way competition regularly. The Qatar Falcons have made the trip to France several times since their first visit in March 2018 when they competed as a guest team at the French Indoor Nationals. They came back in November the same year for the Weembinamic 2018 at the same location. They were obviously well... (more)
