posted: Jan 10th, 2024 The recent NSL News medal count in 4-way Open Class competition featured the most successful world champions in the event since 1985. The sole leader on the list of gold medalists, Mark Kirkby, won five world championship titles (1995 - 1997 - 2001 - 2008 - 2012) within a time period of 17 years, as the NSL News pointed out on 12 January 2023. The same profile story of Dennis Praet mentioned the two French (Eric Fradet, Philippe Schorno) and two Belgian (Andy Grauwels, Dennis Praet) 4-way world champions who are tied in 2nd place with four gold medals. That's where the gold medal count stopped... (more)

There was a 9-point difference between them (1204 - 1195) at the end of October after ten months of the special monthly indoor competition. It became even closer after the next six sequences of November, when the group of Czech 4-way teams reduced the difference by two more points. News Article Did you know that 4-way Women participation is similar to 8-way Open?
posted: Jan 6th, 2024 Last and not least in the NSL News evaluation of the horizontal Formation Skydiving events is the 4-way Women competition, which has been a part of outdoor world championships since 2001. The introduction of the new event did not separate male and female competitors as the military CISM world championship rules do. It only added the category to the FAI/ISC event format, while Formation Skydiving competition also continued with mixed lineups at the same time. The national teams in the 4-way and 8-way Open Class events still have the option to recruit their members without any restrictions, as... (more)
News Article Did you know that Mass Defiance celebrate a 20-year anniversary at the New Hampshire Tunnel Fest?
posted: Jan 6th, 2024 The NSL News has covered the very special indoor competition of the New Hampshire Tunnel Fest for many years. The preview of the last event at SkyVenture New Hampshire on 10 December 2022 explained the history of the event, which almost came to an end with the corona virus crisis. As many other events, the New Hampshire Tunnel Fest was canceled after record participation in 2019 (41 teams) and just slipping by the pandemic in January 2020 (36 teams). There was no event a year later, and chances were little that recovery would come quickly and easily. However, owners Laurie and Rob Greer decided... (more)
News Article Did you know that 8-way competition has not yet recovered as well as 4-way?
posted: Jan 4th, 2024 The national teams of the United States in horizontal Formation Skydiving competition do not only have a clean participation sheet at world championships since 1985, as the NSL News pointed out with the update on December 28th. The U.S. 8-way teams have dominated the biannual leaderboards even more than the 4-way teams. In fact, only the U.S. delegation had 8-way teams at each of the 20 FAI/ISC events between 1985 and 2022. On top of that, the country's 8-way teams have won medals at each of these 20 world championships, 15 sets of gold medals, five in silver. The 2nd place was the lowest position... (more)
