News Article Did you know that Round 10 at the German Nationals was the real challenge for Operation Adler?
posted: Oct 31st, 2024 The 8-way competition for the medal positions at the 26th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships ran smoothly and peacefully. The three teams in the top positions could only try to show their best and improve their own performances and scoring levels in their respective team histories. GKXP8 finished miles ahead of Qatar Tigers (239 - 190) after tying the highest meet average in 8-way history and posting a new world record for a single round with the 37-pointer in Round 9. Qatar Tigers copied that on their own specific team level and had a 46-point lead (190 - 143) over Germany's Operation... (more)
News Article Did you know that only Chiara Brunetti won Italian indoor and outdoor championship titles this year?
posted: Oct 30th, 2024 Italy's 4-way teams transitioned quicker than anybody else from outdoor training and competition to indoor activities. The national outdoor championship was barely completed in September when they had to get ready for the indoor championship in October. The transition from outdoor to indoor training and competition is actually the easier one, without exits from jump planes, sub-terminal pages and landing the parachutes. The reverse transition requires more efforts and training. Five of the six Italian teams who competed at the outdoor nationals had to switch the mode as quickly as possible. Amnesya... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Qatar delegation confirmed their status of a powerhouse?
posted: Oct 29th, 2024 The NSL News has called the most successful nations in Formation Skydiving competition the "powerhouses" of the sport regularly in the past. This terminology was usually related to three countries (United States, France, Russia) until Belgium joined the club, at least in 4-way Open, with NMP PCH HayaBusa. The same terminology appeared increasingly in the last four years when the next country began to place their national teams in the top rankings of the world championship leaderboards. In fact, teams from Qatar have won FAI medals at each of the last three events (2021/2022/2024), and the country... (more)
News Article Did you know that Dallas Dynasty members have been generating new AAA Class competitors?
posted: Oct 27th, 2024 Kyle Hermberg's Indoor Cloud League team at iFLY Dallas had four teams again in September who performed the six sequences for the month. The previous update featured new AAA Class competitor Christina Cooper/Edwards and her progression from the Rookie Class sequences (R/RR/RRR) to AA/Intermediate Class gold medals with Dallas Valkyrie at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2023 and a USPA bronze medal in the same category at the national outdoor championship this year. Her Valkyrie team mate Alexa Boushey has been by her indoor side since 2022, and together they stepped up to AAA Class training... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Qatar Lions could challenge the Tigers soon?
posted: Oct 25th, 2024 The NSL News has paid plenty of attention to the remarkable coaching work of Gary Smith, Luc Verstrepen and Jeremie Rollett with Qatar's Formation Skydiving delegation over the years. Qatar Falcons have added one set of 8-way bronze medals (2018) and two sets of silver medals (2022, 2024) to their country's collection, Qatar Tigers three consecutive sets of 4-way bronze medals. Gary Smith was also working with the signature lineup of NMP PCH HayaBusa who won 4-way gold medals for Belgium in 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2021. He began with his work for the Qatar delegation while he was still guiding... (more)
News Article Did you know that Out Of The Blue were the over-achiever at Crystal Coast?
posted: Oct 25th, 2024 The tightest part of the 4-way Open Class competition at the 26th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships actually took place in the lower half of the leaderboard. British 4-way team Apex and Dutch team Out Of The Blue ended up tied in 8th place, with Spanish CISM team Papea only four points behind. Tied totals and positions only get broken, first with an extra round, followed by the tie-breaking rules, if the involved teams are tied in medal positions. However, the application of the same tie-breaking rules behind the medal positions can still define the team that ends up ahead or behind... (more)
