posted: Oct 14th, 2023 The teams in the 4-way Beginner Class (A Class) at the USPA Nationals 2023 completed ten rounds for the first time in the short history of the new event at the national championship. The 4-way Beginner Class was introduced as a test event in 2021 with a 6-round agenda. It was a successful beginning, and the same format was copied for the second test at the USPA Nationals 2022. At least half of the new 4-way competitors in 2021 were back in one of the next categories (Intermediate, Advanced), while five new teams completed the next 6-round competition at Skydive Chicago. posted: Oct 13th, 2023 The two major outdoor events in Formation Skydiving competition, which is sanctioned worldwide by the International Skydiving Commission (ISC) of the Federation International Aeronautique (FAI), world championships and world cups, have been rattled in the past years like never before in the sport's history, especially the world championships. The FAI/ISC Formation Skydiving events with the current format of rules and dive pools have been taking turns since 1985, world championships in the odd years, world cups in the even years. posted: Oct 11th, 2023 Two different topics initiated the most recent NSL Live Talk conversation that was recorded today, on 11 October 2023. The first one came with the headline of the NSL News on September 1st, barely a week after Round 10 at the 23rd FAI World Cup of Formation Skydiving: "Michele Silvi is leaving NMP PCH HayaBusa". This topic has surely been discussed intensively in the Formation Skydiving competition world ever since, and coach Gary Smith provided some insights for the NSL News with the update on September 14th. Did you know that SDC Rhythm XP won USPA bronze medals by a single point?
posted: Oct 10th, 2023 The 4-way Super Sequence in Round 1 of the USPA Nationals 2023 and its impact on the Arizona Airspeed world champions caught most of the attention. SDC Rhythm XP and XPG4 were a part of this situation, as they both outscored Airspeed in Round 1. SDC Rhythm XP claimed the highscore for Round 1, after their own four point deductions, and actually completed more formations within the working time of 35 seconds (52 - 51). The four infringements did not have much of an impact on the flow of the sequence for Rhythm, while Airspeed had to deal with additional delays due to the unexpected interruptions.... (more)

Did you know that Amnesya won their next 4-way title in Italy?
posted: Oct 9th, 2023 The NSL News reported the European showdown between Airbus Oceanside Illertissen (Germany) and Amnesya (Italy) for the bronze medals of the 15th FAI European Formation Skydiving Championship, which was embedded in the 23rd FAI World Cup of Formation Skydiving, with the update on August 28th. Airbus won the 2-point battle and finished in 5th place of the national teams, Amnesya in 6th place. SDC Rhythm XP, who placed ahead of both teams, was the second U.S. team at the outdoor world cup, Arizona Airspeed is the U.S. national team in 4-way Open. Did you know that Prison 9 posted a new 8-way team record average twice this year?
posted: Oct 8th, 2023 The 8-way competition of the USPA Nationals 2023 was not much different on the top of the leaderboard as it was in 4-way Open. The U.S. national teams had no serious opponents, which is including XPG4 in 4-way Women. The winning margin for all three teams has never been of a similar dimension in U.S. history. XPG4 did not even have any opposition in the 4-way Women qualification event. Arizona Airspeed's 8-way lineup have been winning the USPA silver medals every year since they gave up serious 8-way training and the 4-way lineups focused on their specific event after the USPA Nationals 2009....
