News Article Did you know that Ayro won Belgian gold after the next duel with Falco?
posted: Sep 14th, 2023 The NSL News covered the new combined Belgian/Dutch outdoor championship when the teams had completed eight rounds at Skydive Flanders in Moorsele on September 8th. The competition was not only the combined national championship for teams from Belgian and the Netherlands. The NSL News mentioned in the first update that the two new Qatar teams, Cheetahs and Lions, were also heading to the event to participate as guest teams. The event turned out to be a re-match between five of the teams who had visited Skydive Voss in Norway just a week earlier. Dutch national team Out Of The Blue had finished... (more)
News Article Did you know that FAI medalists Airbus and Meltemi had no serious opposition in Germany?
posted: Sep 13th, 2023 The NSL News reported live from the 4-way competition of the German Outdoor Nationals 2023 when the teams had completed Round 5. The NSL Live Talk conversation with Airbus Illertissen Oceanside on August 31st took place while rain was pounding the facilities at the Fallschirmsportzentrum Saar. The German national team in 4-way Open was obviously unimpressed by the weather in Saarlouis, as they had just experienced very similar conditions at the 23rd FAI World Cup of Formation Skydiving in Norway. They finished an average point higher after the eight completed rounds at FSZ Saar, which is the... (more)
News Article Did you know that Airspeed, France and HayaBusa had something special in common in Norway?
posted: Sep 12th, 2023 The 23rd FAI World Cup of Formation Skydiving featured a very special coincidence in the 4-way Open Class competition. The teams in the first three places on the world cup leaderboard had something in common that has little and still much to do with the actual competition. The team videographers play a major role in Formation Skydiving competition, especially in the medal area of the 4-way Open event, where the break of each sequence's first formation usually happens in less than a second. Any flaw of the videographer's exit at the wrong time can cause a point deduction, which has the potential... (more)
News Article Did you know that Thyra won the next FAI medals for Norway?
posted: Sep 11th, 2023 The NSL News coverage of the 23rd FAI World Cup of Formation Skydiving is far from over, even though other events keep happening during the aftermath of the competition at Skydive Voss in Norway. National championships in Germany, Great Britain, Belgium and Netherlands were taking place shortly after the outdoor world cup, and more Formation Skydiving events will come up very soon, including Canada, France and the United States. Most of them relate to the outdoor world cup, where the best 4-way and 8-way teams of participating countries meet for international competition. In fact, the 7-team... (more)
News Article Did you know that Cheetahs and Lions had their own travel agenda?
posted: Sep 8th, 2023 The next aftermath event was the British 4-way outdoor championship, which was completed last weekend, at the same time when the German 8-way teams battled for the top spot in their event. The British 8-way teams will follow up on the September 16 weekend. The Qatar Falcons transitioned from Norway to Germany, as the NSL News reported yesterday, while the two farm teams, Cheetahs and Lions, had their own and different travel agenda. They could have met again the two German national 4-way teams, Airbus Illertissen Oceanside (4-way Open) and Meltemi Oceanside (4-way Women), who just returned from... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Qatar Formation Skydiving delegation split up after leaving Norway?
posted: Sep 8th, 2023 The aftermath of the 23rd FAI World Cup of Formation Skydiving will take a little while, and it is different compared to other FAI outdoor events in the past. There is more than only the traditional aftermath this year, which usually evaluates the results of any event as carefully as possible. The outdoor competition at Skydive Voss was scheduled relatively early in the calendar year, which changes the relationship between the most relevant annual international events (world championship - world cup) and the national championships for the teams in the participating countries. Many of the... (more)
