News Article Did you know that The German delegation won the ESL Spirit 2024 with 36 points?
posted: Sep 24th, 2024 The German 4-way delegation at the ESL Championship 2024 could celebrate the comeback victory of the event on home turf at the Fallschirmsportzentrum Saar (FSZ Saar) last weekend and took back the ESL Spirit trophy. Germany had won the ESL Spirit only twice so far, in 2016 and 2017 on the same home turf in Saarlouis. The Belgian 4-way teams are still the all-time leaders since 2004 with six ESL Championship titles, followed by the Netherlands with five and Great Britain and Germany, now with three each. The British ESL delegation won the last event before the corona virus break, and Belgium... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Texas delegation took home two sets of bronze medals?
posted: Sep 24th, 2024 The iFLY Dallas team of the Indoor Cloud League continued with 4-way training and introduction throughout the summer, even when Texas teams and competitors were in the middle of outdoor preparations for the USPA Nationals, where the U.S. Lone Star State always has a strong presence. ICL organizer Kyle Hermberg has focused only on indoor training and competition and outdoor coaching in the past years, while participants of his indoor events are often active in both environments. There were still five different lineups at iFLY Dallas in August who joined forces to put the total of 127 points on... (more)
News Article Did you know that the USPA Intermediate Class offered great competition at Skydive Chicago?
posted: Sep 23rd, 2024 The AA/Intermediate Class teams at the USPA National Championship 2024 lived up once again to the expected tight competition that the event has shown year by year. This year's results have created one of the most interesting leaderboards of the past years, as five teams finished on and above the 10-average level, separated by only 14 points from 5th to 1st place. The depth of the field is best shown by the fact that highscores for any of the ten rounds went down to the 10th place. Spaceland Toxic won the bronze medals with only two of the ten highscores, and the two teams behind the Texas teams,... (more)
News Article Did you know that the ESL Championship was completed on Saturday?
posted: Sep 21st, 2024 The ESL Championship 2024 was already concluded on Saturday, after perfect weather conditions on Friday and Saturday allowed meet director Mike Pennock to complete all ten rounds for all 16 teams at the end of Saturday and open up the evening for the award ceremony and event party at the Fallschirmsportzentrum Saar (FSZ Saar). The final leaderboard matched the NSL Power Rankings of the preview quite accurately. The new team record average of Airbus Oceanside Illertissen was still not enough to hold off the Qatar Lions, who had shown their current 20-average potential earlier this month at the... (more)
News Article Did you know that the ESL Championship features a high-profile and colorful AAA Class field?
posted: Sep 21st, 2024 This weekend features the comeback of the ESL Championship, as the NSL News reported on June 20th. Another preview on July 19th added that the Qatar delegation will send the Lions and the Cheetahs to the event that is being hosted once again by the Fallschirmsportzentrum Saar (FSZ Saar). The last European Skydiving League Championship was held in Spa 2019, the previous one in Saarlouis 2018. It is an annual event that offers teams the opportunity of an international high-profile competition who cannot attend the FAI world cups or world championships. However, there is at least one team at... (more)
News Article Did you know that Solly Williams, Thomas and Tim Mack met in Gransee for NSL Live Talk?
posted: Sep 19th, 2024 The 8-way competition at the German Outdoor Nationals 2024 caught the attention of the NSL News several times in the run-up to the competition. The duel between Operation Adler and the Airbus 8-way lineup became even more of a drama than expected, and the NSL News will follow up later with the details of it. Eventually, the defending champions of Operation Adler won the special internal qualification and will compete for Germany at the FAI Outdoor World Championships 2024. There was not much drama in 4-way Open, even though the stakes are high for both national 4-way teams, Airbus in 4-way Open,... (more)
