posted: Oct 11th, 2012 The Southern California Skydiving League ran only two meets this year after Skydive Elsinore and Skydive Perris each have hosted two meets annually in the past. However, some of the last scores of the regular 2012 season were posted by teams and competitors who have caught the NSL News attention earlier. Perris Wicked has been covered by the NSL News since Christy Frikken and Hannah Betts launched the female team project at the end of the 2011 season. News Article Did you know that scores and participation went up at Denmark's Indoor Nationals?
posted: Oct 10th, 2012 The Danish skydiving union held their annual Indoor Championships last weekend in Bottrop, Germany. The 4way scoring level was significantly higher than in 2011, and the number of participating teams also went up from nine to eleven. All seven AAA Class teams averaged above the double digit level. Airplay's player coach Kjetil Nordin, former member of Norway's national 4way team at the World Meet 2010 in Menzelinsk, said that his team's 16.1 average was not even good enough to win a medal. News Article Did you know that Cross Keys Flashpoint went from 4.8 in May to 10.3 last weekend?
posted: Oct 10th, 2012 The 2012 season of the MidAtlantic Skydiving League season is over, too, and Cross Keys Flashpoint posted the only scores last weekend. It was the 5th meet for the A Class team this year. Flashpoint launched the 2012 season with a 4.8 average in May and finished it with a 10.3 average last weekend. The NSL News had introduced team member Mariaelena Rodriguez as a MASL Rookie Class competitor on 23 July last year. News Article Did you know that VFS 4way was the beginning of the third phase in the history of modern Formation Skydiving competition?
posted: Oct 9th, 2012 There have actually been three different phases in what the NSL News has been calling the "modern history" of Formation Skydiving competition, which is defined by the introduction of the current dive pool system with blocks and random formations. It was the World Meet 1985 in Yugoslavia where this system was applied for the first time. 4way and 8way competition were the only categories in Formation Skydiving at that time, and it continued like that until the World Meet 1999 in Australia. posted: Oct 6th, 2012 The NSL News has to continue with bad news, as they have all been directly related to the upcoming Mondial 2012 in Dubai. First ISB Air Remscheid out of the game in the female 4way competition, then Germany's EADS 8way lineup without Thomas Spielvogel - and now the next news coming from France. Laurence Hervé, Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders' Point, broke her ankle last Wednesday and will not be able to compete in Dubai.
