News Article Did you know that Norway's 8way competition was the highlight for six freeflyers?
posted: Aug 16th, 2012 Like last year, the Norwegian Nationals 2012 were organized by the Tønsberg Fallskjermklubb which is located in Tønsberg, a city approximately one hour southwest of Oslo. It is the home dropzone of DeLand Norgies members Lise Nansen and Carl-Erik Tuv and the home of the one and only Norwegian Twin Otter. The Tønsberg Fallskjermklubb is also one of the Polaris sponsors. Norway's national team in the female 4way category spent two weeks at the dropzone in July and made 83 jumps despite sometimes challenging weather conditions. Four teams signed up for the 4way AAA/Open Class competition... (more)
News Article Did you know that ISB Air Remschied is missing on the top of the German leaderboard?
posted: Aug 15th, 2012 The German Nationals 2012 are now in full swing after several other European countries have recently determined their national 4way and 8way champions. There are no surprises on the leaderboard after Round 5. The best German 4way teams are all in perfect order according to previous scores and expectations. Bronze medalist of the World Cup 2011, Paratec-Saar, is competing with the original and complete lineup. ISB Air Remscheid member Petra van Overveld had helped out last year at the national championship when Dieter Schwarz was not available. Paratec-Saar has allowed EADS to tie a round... (more)
News Article Did you know that Bardagi won the Swedish Nationals 2012?
posted: Aug 14th, 2012 The Swedish Nationals 2012 were completed at the end of July, and Fire's recent attendance at the UK Nationals 2012 brought the NSL News attention back to Scandinavia. The NSL News reported on 7 May 2012 that Sweden's national 4way team in the Open Class, Bardagi, had a late start into the 2012 season. The scores at the Swedish Nationals 2012 would be the team's first ones this year. There was no doubt that Bardagi would once again be the strongest team in Sweden this year after coming back with the same lineup as in 2011, and the 16.6 average at the end of July is identical with the Bardagi... News Article Did you know that the UK Nationals 2012 included big meets for South Africa and Sweden?
posted: Aug 13th, 2012 The UK Nationals 2012 are over, at least in 4way. The 8way competition is still to follow this weekend. It is difficult to find the starting point for the aftermath, as a total of 72 teams provided so much content for stories that it is impossible to cover it all. First of all, the 2012 participation is once again a new record number for the United Kingdom. 54 teams competed in 2010, 55 last year, and the 72 teams last weekend brings 4way competition in the United Kingdom to a new level. The last time that the US teams came to that level was in Perris 2005 when 80 teams attended the national... (more)
News Article Did you know that the French 8way team in 2nd place would have won gold in 1987?
posted: Aug 12th, 2012 The leaderboard of the Norwegian Nationals has been updated with the missing scores, and the DeLand Norgies topped things off with a 38-pointer in Round 8. Polaris posted a 29-pointer for the same Super Sequence. The 72 teams at the UK Nationals keep posting great scores and have some exciting battles going on the top of the four leaderboards and within the field. The NSL News will explain more about the competition later on. The pressure test for the national 4way and 8way lineups in France is over. Aerodyne Aerokart (4way) and Aerodyne Maubeuge (8way) both completed ten rounds within a... (more)
News Article Did you know that the dark horse won the 4way battle in Finland?
posted: Aug 11th, 2012 No more news or scores have arrived from Norway where the DeLand Norgies were ahead of Polaris after Round 5. The national championships in France have been completed, and the NSL News will update the leaderboard later today. The UK Nationals 2012 are also in full swing, and the first scores will follow this NSL News update. In the meantime, Finland's 4way teams have completed their national championships, as well. The NSL News mentioned in the preview on 9 August 2012 that there might be a dark horse waiting until the national championships to show what the team has to offer. This strategy... (more)
