posted: Aug 28th, 2012 The opening ceremony of the World Cup 2012 took place in the same Tennis Hotel several teams and competitors were accommodated at the World Cup 2009. All participants and officials are staying at the same place this time, due to the low number of teams. The ceremony included several speeches by the hosts and the competition draw. The sequences were drawn live from the hat, according to the new rules, and they did not bring any surprises like a Super Sequence. posted: Aug 27th, 2012 The NSL News is finally ready to go and cover the World Cup 2012 live from the competition site. It was a challenging situation when the NSL website crashed, all of a sudden and at a very bad time. Fortunately, there was temporary and quick help available. ISB Air Remscheid member Pia Weingart kindly provided the connection with a German web wizzard who was able to repair the broken system within a few days and just in time. News Article Did you know that Skydivers had a diving competition on Friday?
posted: Aug 27th, 2012 It seemed to be impossible that the weather could change so quickly overnight in Magdeburg after a perfect Thursday at SkyQuest Germany 2012. But it did, and there was no jumping all day long until shortly before sunset. The participants had no problem killing the time though. Local skydivers were prepared to launch some fun acitivities, and one of them was a very special competition that was much related to skydiving. News Article Did you know that the ESL Championship 2012 has three top contenders for the ESL Spirit this year?
posted: Aug 24th, 2012 The NSL News reported on 22 November 2011 that the European teams and competitors would select the host for the ESL Championship 2012 by themselves. They voted until a set deadline, and the majority decided to go to Belgium this year. The skydiving center in Moorsele will welcome the teams for a combined event, including the Belgian Nationals and the ESL Championship on September 7 - 9. Meet Director Mike Pennock informed the NSL News that 37 teams from seven different countries are registered in all four competition categories (AAA - AA - A - Rookie) at this point in time. posted: Aug 24th, 2012 Another quick update is overdue after last weekend's meets. The Florida Skydiving League competed together with the teams from the Czech Republic and had bad luck with Florida's summer weather on Saturday. Bob Byrne reported from Skydive City that he had five teams present and ready to go on Saturday. The weather did not allow the completion of any rounds, and only two teams were prepared to come back on Sunday. News Article Did you know that the first SkyQuest Germany day brought the first highlights for the participants?
posted: Aug 23rd, 2012 The NSL News goes back to SkyQuest Germany after an excursion to Lithuania earlier today. The first day of the event turned out to become almost a highlight in itself, while there are three more days to come. The first update earlier today reported great weather and great conditions for a successful skydiving event, and nothing changed in the course of the day. In addition, reigning 8way world cahmpion Martial Ferre and Dave Lewis from England guided many of the participants in Magdeburg to the best skydives in their career at this very early point in time.
