News Article Did you know that the Golden Knights female lineup is breaking up?
posted: Nov 1st, 2012 The scoring progression of the Golden Knights has been impressive enough before competing at the USPA Nationals 2012. The female lineup of the US Army delegation was still not done impressing the audience and the competition in FAI's female 4way category before the upcoming Mondial 2012. The bronze medals in the 4way Open Class and the 20.8 average is another strong message that the US national team sent to France where the Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders are trying to deal with the recent personnel change due to Laurence Hervé's injury. The Golden Knights have focused only on 8way and 4way... (more)
News Article Did you know that it's a tough deal for Sky Panthers Barkli at the USPA Nationals?
posted: Oct 31st, 2012 It's a tough deal for a world class 8way team to compete at the same place and at the same time when the Golden Knights are thinking of scoring higher than the standing 22.4 world record average. It makes it difficult for a team like the Russian Sky Panthers Barkli to look like a top contender for gold medals this year. Russia won 8way gold medals in 2001 and 2003, and several current Barkli members were in the world champion lineup of those years. The 19.3 average of 2001 won the gold medals for Russia, and 20.1 did the trick in 2003. Sky Panthers Barkli is now standing at 19.6 after Round... (more)
News Article Did you know that M8Trix has gone from 8.2 in 2011 to 11.0 after Round 5?
posted: Oct 31st, 2012 M8Trix, the national 8way team from the Netherlands, is one of the guest teams at the USPA Nationals 2012. The lineup consists mostly of Dutch 4way competitors who decided to switch to the other Formation Skydiving event for a little while. The little while could easily turn into a 4-year project. The team was put together in 2011, and the plans for another 2-year period after the Mondial 2012 are in the works. Gary Smith, former 4way world champion of 2004 (DeLand Majik) and 2006 (DeLand Fire), is the player coach. He lives in the Netherlands after his years in DeLand and now brings his... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Golden Knights are challenging their own 22.4 world record average?
posted: Oct 31st, 2012 It's time to turn full attention to the 8way competition at the USPA Nationals 2012. Three rounds were completed on Tuesday after the 4way competition was concluded, the remaining seven rounds will most likely be completed today. One of the main topics for the NSL News is the question whether the Golden Knights will be able or not to finally erase the still standing 22.4 record average that the US Army lineup of 1997 posted at the World Meet 1997 in Turkey. It looks promising after Round 5, even though the competition draw does not include any outstanding fast sequences. It will most likely... (more)
News Article Did you know that NSL Reality TV features the Golden Knights on their way to the bronze medals?
posted: Oct 30th, 2012 The last NSL Reality TV update on Tuesday at the USPA Nationals 2012 features mostly the showdown for the 3rd place between DNR and the Golden Knights. Golden Knights 4way coach Brian "BK" Krause was probably more nervous than the team when it came to the last round. The NSL News was with him out in the landing area when the team came back from Round 9. Nothing had changed, as both teams tied the round with 17-pointers. Round 10 would bring the final conclusion for the bronze medals. The NSL News also tried to capture Arizona Airspeed after landing from Round 9. Airspeed is prepared now for... (more)
News Article Did you know that Arizona Airspeed missed a new team record average in Round 4?
posted: Oct 30th, 2012 The atmosphere in the viewing area at the USPA Nationals 2012 was almost like a gold medal situation when Round 10 between DNR and the Golden Knights female 4way lineup was judged. It was a dramatic finish, and the crowd had a good reason to get excited. Arizona Airspeed's excellent 37-pointer and Evolution's 33-pointer fell behind the cheers for the finish between DNR and Golden Knights. DNR went into the last round one point ahead of the US national team in the female 4way category and was never behind throughout the whole meet. However, DNR could never shake off the Golden Knights and offered... (more)
