News Article Did you know that Zoe Bodtländer's name is now on the Fun Flag?
posted: Apr 20th, 2012 The NSL News has been quiet about the whereabouts of the Fun Flag for a long time, and there was a good reason for that. The last update with a funny story came from the World Cup 2011 on 4 August 2011. From then on and after a sad incident in Saarlouis the Fun Flag was not a topic for the NSL News any longer. A little girl was injured when the battle for the possession of the Fun Flag got out of control at the competition site, and the Fun Flag had lost its purpose. However, the NSL News used the time between the end of the 2011 season and the beginning of the new competition season to find... (more)
News Article Did you know that SDC Rhythm XP suffered the most penalties at the World Challenge 2012?
posted: Apr 19th, 2012 The extended leaderboard of the World Challenge 2012, which inludes the number of point deductions per round for each team, does not look pretty for the teams behind the TOP 3. XL is the only exception with a total of only three penalties. This makes XL actually the cleanest team of the TOP 10 this year. XL was in between two different scoring levels this year. The TOP 3 were too strong and too well trained, even for a pickup team of world class competitors, and there was not much competition for XL other than that. Arizona Airspeed in 3rd place was 22 points ahead of XL and SDC Rhythm XP 21... (more)
News Article Did you know that the 21.9 average fits perfectly into the Golden Knights progression chart?
posted: Apr 18th, 2012 The NSL News reported on 15 April 2012 how the currently two best 8way teams in the world, Aerodyne Maubeuge from France and Golden Knights, use 4way training and competition to make their 8way lineups become better and stronger. France still seems to have the upper hand with a view from the 4way angle. The NSL News now goes back to the real 8way competition and the view from the other side. The consistent progression of the Golden Knights in the last three years was documented by the NSL News on 10 December 2011. Former team captain Brian "BK" Krause had launched the new 8way project of the... (more)
News Article Did you know that JaNette Lefkowitz was the highest scoring female competitor at the World Challenge 2012?
posted: Apr 17th, 2012 The female 4way teams had their own leaderboard for the first time at the World Challenge 2012. It was well worth it since the number of teams doubled compared to last year's event. The separate leaderboard also makes it easier to follow the competition in the female 4way category and the race to Dubai 2012. Female 4way competition has had its own place at the IPC (International Parachuting Commission) events since it was introduced in 2001. However, there is always an interesting mix with the teams of the Open Class, as several female world class competitors are also in lineups with the... (more)
News Article Did you know that the RaceHouse offers additional entertainment at Bodyflight Bedford?
posted: Apr 16th, 2012 The NSL News trip to Bodyflight Bedford for the annual World Challenge has always included a surprise that host Paul Mayer had in store for the audience and for the participants. It was not the consistently higher number of teams that the NSL News eventually got used to. It was a new addition to the facilities or a new toy that would make the visit even more entertaining and interesting, besides the world class 4way competition. Host Paul Mayer took the NSL News on a sighseeing tour at the first visit in 2007, which was impressive enough due to the sophisticated and spacious facilities around... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Czech Rookie Class teams scored on World Challenge medal level at Sportflight?
posted: Apr 16th, 2012 The NSL News mentioned yesterday that Freeflying teams from several other windtunnels competed at the World Challenge 2012. Jan Turek and Vojtech Fikar represented the Skydive Arena in Prague, Chech Republic, and placed 13th. The same three Czech 4way teams who had attended the March indoor meet in Prague, and who had also competed at the first two events of the 4-meet indoor series, showed up again for the last windtunnel competition at Sportflight this winter. It took place in Prague while the World Challenge 2012 was in full swing in Bedford. Sportflight Indoor April 2012Rd. 1Rd. 2Rd.... (more)
