News Article Did you know that Kinetix videos feature an extremely clean Irish winner team?
posted: Apr 5th, 2011 The NSL News will still follow up on the World Challenge 2011 for quite a while since there are a lot of footage and topics that could not be used and covered during the event. It is challenging enough to keep up with the progression of the actual event when 63 teams complete ten rounds in two days. The judging videos are now available, thanks to CamScore, and it will be most interesting to compare the two different views with each other. The NSL-TV camera captured the competition action from eye level in the flying chamber, while the judges are viewing the flying sessions from the videographer's... (more)
News Article Did you know that NMP-PCH Hayabusa spoke with Joey Jones and the NSL News between Round 10 and the awards?
posted: Apr 4th, 2011 The aftermath of the World Challenge 2011 begins on the very top, an interview with the winner, NMP-PCH Hayabusa, after the competition was completed and before the award ceremony at Bodyflight Bedford. Joey Jones and the NSL News asked a few questions before the celebration of the probably most important victory for the Belgian national 4-way team began. Hayabusa won the competition by seven points over Arizona Airspeed with a 30.5 average. The meet average in Bedford matches the scoring record of 30.5 for a 10-round meet that the French national 4-way team posted at the World Challenge... (more)
News Article Did you know that the scores of Round 10 and a Freeflying update conclude the World Challenge 2011?
posted: Apr 3rd, 2011 The World Challenge 2011 is over. Round 10 did not change anything. NMP-PCH Hayabusa won the indoor competition, and SDC Rhythm XP defended the 5th place successfully. Joey Jones and the NSL News spoke with Hayabusa after the last round and with Airspeed after the award ceremony. The videos of the conversations will be uploaded later. Now it's time for the final update of the Freeflying competition, once again provided by Piers Hampson. Day two kicks of with a bang as all the teams pull out all the stops with some of the cleanest flying we have seen so far in the competition. These... (more)
News Article Did you know that SDC Rhythm XP and SportLotto battled for the 5th place?
posted: Apr 3rd, 2011 The new video clip of the last round comes in a different order. The four top contenders are still at the end of the video. It still begins with two different teams next to each other this time. The first earlier race between ISB Air and Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders ended when the French team showed its teeth and pulled away round by round, similarly to the performance at the Shamrock Showdown 2011 where the Defenders gained momentum towards the end of the meet. ISB Air has now battled with Thunder for the last Top 10 spot. The most exciting race at the end took place between SDC Rhythm XP... (more)
News Article Did you know that the NSL-TV camera followed the French talent in the chamber?
posted: Apr 3rd, 2011 The NSL-TV camera entered the flying chamber ealier than usual for Round 9. It has been interesting to follow the two French national B-Teams who have been going neck to neck through the first eight rounds. They were separated by one single point after Round 8. 8-way world champion and coach Erwan Pouliquen is coaching the French B-Teams. Aerodyne Deep Blue Defender Laurence Hervé competed with one of the B-Teams from Dunkerque at the World Challenge 2010. Her team finished with an 18.7 average last year. Then she was selected for the new French female lineup and stands with a 24.8 average... (more)
News Article Did you know that creepers are well overrated?
posted: Apr 3rd, 2011 The videos of Round 8 have been posted, but the clip begins with a special review of Round 7. The NSL News mentioned earlier today that the sequence of Round 7 was a real tunnel sequence, as Round 3 and Round 5 were. Arizona Airspeed and SDC Rhythm XP found a very special and convenient way to prepare for Round 7. Thomas Hughes filmed it and provided the NSL News with the footage. Preparing sequences on creepers has become a dinosaur training method, and teams have become more creative with sophisticated jump preparations. It is easy to imagine that teams will never go back to creepers once... (more)
