News Article Did you know that Round 7 was another tunnel sequence?
posted: Apr 3rd, 2011 Round 7 had a real tunnel sequence (14,B,17) which could even be trained in a 12-foot chamber. That was the case in Round 5, as well, and of course in Round 3. It was no surprise that all teams performed well in the second round of the day. There were still several different ways how to engineer this sequence. Almost the whole French delegation had the "hopper" of Block 17 (Danish T - Murphy) do a 180 turn to build the Bipole of Block 14, while the three team mates held their positions. This was only one of three or four different ways how to engineer the sequence. It was also a round where... (more)
News Article Did you know that the videos of Round 6 show a confident Belgian team?
posted: Apr 3rd, 2011 Here comes the answer to the big question, first with the videos of Round 6, then very soon with the new scores: "Can NMP-PCH Hayabusa maintain the top position?" The videos show another fast and sharp performance, with the fastest Block 11 (Photon - Photon). The judges will have the last word about the Belgian Block 22 (T - Chinese T). The NSL-TV captured a few scenes before the round began. The turnaround has the AAA Class teams start each round, from bottom to top. The AA, A and Rookie Class teams follow before the freeflyers complete each turnaround. It is Mother's Day, and the Guardian... (more)
News Article Did you know that the videos of Round 5 come with Joey Jones' evaluation?
posted: Apr 3rd, 2011 It sounds very strange that Round 5 was the one and only round that Arizona Airspeed has won so far at the World Challenge 2011. It happened only three times in the 30 Airspeed rounds this year that the new lineup gave away a round. Then they came to Bedford, and NMP-PCH Hayabusa won each of the first four rounds. However, Airspeed recovered in Round 5 and won by a point, finally. Hayabusa won the Dubai Championship 2011 but had to accept at the Shamrock Showdown 2011 that Airspeed was still stronger, and France as well. This changed quickly. It took only two weeks for the Belgian team to... (more)
News Article Did you know that the videos of Round 4 feature Hayabusa's 4th highscore and a Freeflying update?
posted: Apr 2nd, 2011 The first day of the World Challenge 2011 is over. The scores of the first five rounds are posted, and the videos of four rounds are available. The NSL-TV camera also captured several teams in Round 5, but the videos will be processed and uploaded on Sunday morning. Joey Jones wrapped up the first day with a very lively NSL Talk with the three teams from Ireland. Then he evaluated the situation at the end of the first day for the NSL News, and this video will also follow tomorrow. It is a very interesting situation, as the table has turned between the Shamrock Showdown 2011 and the World... (more)
News Article Did you know that NMP-PCH Hayabusa missed Perris Fury's 66-record by one point?
posted: Apr 2nd, 2011 It was no surprise that it would take a little bit longer until the scores for Round 3 would be complete. Perris Fury's 66-pointer at the World Challenge 2010 is the highest score for a single round in the history of Formation Skydiving competition so far. Arizona Airspeed began to challenge it at the World Challenge 2011 as the first of the top teams and finished with a 60-pointer. NMP-PCH Hayabusa went faster and still ended up one point short with a 65-pointer. However, once again Airspeed lost serious ground in the fast sequence of Round 3, and Hayabusa increased the lead over Airspeed to... (more)
News Article Did you know that the NSL News provides the Freeflying scores from Bedford?
posted: Apr 2nd, 2011 The videos of Round 3 are in the works, while the judges have the challenging job to find the right numbers for the fast sequence of random formations. In the meantime, Piers Hampson provided an update from the freeflying headquarters. (more)
