Did you know that only NMP-PCH Hayabusa mastered Round 5 with a 20-pointer? posted: Jan 9th, 2011 The leaderboard at the Dubai Championship 2011 is obviously up-to-date now. Judges and host took care of this first thing in the morning.
In the meantime, the teams have completed Rounds 5 and 6, and the unofficial scores of the three top teams are available. Arizona Airspeed also uploaded the videos of the last two rounds.
The video of Round 5 shows the slowest sequence of the competition. Only one of the three top teams managed to keep the score at 20 points. Craig Girard reported that NMP-PCH Hayabusa completed the second Monopod of Block 4 just at the end of the working time.

Did you know that Alpha Armada was charging hard in Round 3? posted: Jan 8th, 2011 Another scoring update came unexpectedly late from the Dubai Championship 2011. The judges returned to their desks after dinner, completed the scores for Round 3 in both 4-way events and even added Round 4 in the female category.
NMP-PCH Hayabusa's Roy Janssen was right when he predicted bad news for his team after finishing the day: "Today two more rounds in the books. Round 3 was an average jump, as Andy already mentioned. Probably we have 3 busts in it which means 33 down to 30."
The judges had only a 30-pointer for Hayabusa, and Arizona Airspeed didn't have much more luck. An earlier... (more)
Did you know that Airspeed's new video is two rounds ahead of the scores? posted: Jan 8th, 2011 It is difficult to take, but it seems to be the truth - the day is over at the Dubai Championship 2011, and the leaderboard is not up-to-date.
Rounds 3 and 4 have apparently been completed, as Arizona Airspeed has uploaded the video of Round 4.
It looks good once again, even though the Airspeed comments were not the same as before:
"We were a little scrappy but still going for it for all we are worth. We took a different engineering than most, so we'll have to see if it pays off."

Did you know that NMP-PCH Hayabusa videos show Dennis Praet in Dubai outdoor action? posted: Jan 8th, 2011 It's time to catch up with videos of the leader after Round 2, NMP-PCH Hayabusa. The NSL News has introduced the new lineup with young Point Dennis Praet with earlier stories.
The story on 2 December 2010 had covered the first indoor competition with the new lineup at the ISR Grand Prix 2010 where Hayabusa finished with a 32.9 average after seven rounds.
The same story included a video of one indoor round with new team member Dennis Praet. It was the first time that the audience could see how he was flying his slot after a few months of training as a full member. It was impressive. The NSL... (more)
Did you know that Airspeed's video of Round 3 shows a 33-pointer? posted: Jan 8th, 2011 Round 3 is in full swing at the Dubai Championship 2011, and Arizona Airspeed has already posted the video on You Tube, even though the scores have not been posted so far. Once again, the team was happy with the performance.
NMP-PCH Hayabusa's Andy Grauwels posted a quick note for his team in the same round: "Round 3 was an average jump, and we counted 33 points, I guess they want to finish the next round also today, we are now waiting for that 15-minute call. Up next is Q 1 C 14."
The NSL News counted 33 points in working time for Airspeed, as well. Nothing may change between the US and... (more)
Did you know that Russia has a few internal battles in Dubai? posted: Jan 7th, 2011 As usual, the NSL News also looks across the pond and checks the other leaderboards. The field of competitors in Canopy Piloting always has several familiar names of the Formation Skydiving community. Shannon Pilcher, Ian Bobo, Jonathan Tagle, Pete Allum are just some examples of overlapping disciplines in the past.
This time, there is a new competitor in both events who the NSL News has not paid much attention to in the past. Alexsander Golovkin's story is related to the three Russian teams in the Open Class competition.
