News Article Did you know that John Eagle has been Hayabusa's American Idol?
posted: Jan 10th, 2011 Tomorrow's Round 8 at the Dubai Championship 2011 is like a jump-off situation between NMP-PCH Hayabusa and Aerodyne Aerokart. The winner of this round will take it all. Well, not quite, as the winner gets "only" $20,000 and the 2nd place will still be rewarded with $15,000. It is also a little bit different since a real jump-off does not have another team with a lower number of points in the additional round. Arizona Airspeed is also in the "jump-off" Round 8. Nothing is impossible, and it would not be the first time that Airspeed pulls it off at the very last minute. It is actually still... (more)
News Article Did you know that new videos feature the new French Aerodyne Aerokart lineup?
posted: Jan 10th, 2011 Most of the feedback and visuals of the Dubai Championship 2011 have come from Arizona Airspeed and NMP-PCH Hayabusa so far. It is about time to take a closer look at the French videos, as well. Rob "Dutch" Kendall, CYPRES representative in Dubai, worked together with the French videographers to make meet videos available for the audience. The NSL News begins with featuring the new French Aerodyne Aerokart lineup, who are currently tied in 1st place with NMP-PCH Hayabusa. Three reigning 4-way world champions and new member Emmanuel "Manu" Sarrazin try to continue where they finished off in... (more)
News Article Did you know that new videos feature Airspeed's Round 7 and Alpha Armada's Round 3?
posted: Jan 10th, 2011 Round 7 has been completed at the Dubai Championship 2011, teams and audience are waiting for the scores. Most of the Arizona Airspeed comments are coming from on-line provider Andy Delk who is also uploading the videos. Airspeed's Round 7 is already available, together with a brief note: "Round 7 is complete for all of formation skydiving and they are saving the final round for tomorrow. Our round 7 was definitely scrappy and we can't help but think we left some on the table after that round. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the scoreboard says. Craig didn't say this jump was awesome....... (more)
News Article Did you know that there was heavy damage for Russia in Round 5?
posted: Jan 9th, 2011 The leaderboards of the Dubai Championship 2011 were updated late. In fact, the penalty information was available earlier than the complete scores. This is the reason why some teams are not in the proper rankings in the tables that show the penalties. The numbers indicate the point deductions, and they looked funny without the actual scores. Some negative numbers stick out, the worst can be found on the leaderboard of the 4-way Female Class. The Russian Illusions lost four points in Round 5, which was the slow 3-block sequence. The official score for this round will most likely not... (more)
News Article Did you know that France scored "only" 25 points for a sequence with Block 22?
posted: Jan 9th, 2011 The NSL News is taking a chance again by jumping ahead of the official scoring and using information from participants on the competition site. This did not work out perfectly accurate last time, as NMP-PCH Hayabusa's 20-pointer in Round 5 turned into a 19-pointer on the NSL leaderboard, which is also still unofficial. However, it gives the audience at least a pretty good timely impression of what is happening at the Dubai Championship 2011, and the official truth is usually not far away. The scores for the slow Round 5 were somehow a milestone for the three top contenders. Nobody made it to... (more)
News Article Did you know that Round 3 was the only penalty round for the top teams so far?
posted: Jan 9th, 2011 The scores for Round 5 on the NSL leaderboard are unofficial, of course, until they are posted on the event pages of the International Parachuting Commission (IPC). The unofficial Dubai information comes from participants on site, like the Airspeed and Hayabusa members who also service their own Facebook pages with short notes. NMP-PCH Hayabusa's 20-pointer and the other scores for Round 5 were reported by Arizona Airspeed, and the 20-pointer seems to be in question. Hayabusa's Andy Grauwels had a different take on Round 5: "Round 5 was a very clean jump, where we tried something new which... (more)
